Something Old, New, Borrowed, Blue"
I know we did this at the old site but can we start a new one?
What did every one do or going to do for this.
I'm having a little trouble on what to do.
Something Old, I might use my Grandmother necklace she left to me for a ankle bracelet but I'll have to wrap it around twice.
Something New, every thing I have on will be new
Something Borrowed,
Something Blue

Old: Some crystals from one of my Grandma's necklaces. It was broken so we took some of them and replaced some of the crystals that were already on my dress... Will be lovely to have a little bit of Grandma with me on the day.
New: My whole outfit.
Borrowed: It's supposed to be tradition over here to borrow something from a couple you know who have been married for a long time or who seem happily married. So I think I'm going to ask Moreno's mum if she has something I could pin to my dress, because his parents were married for a long time before his dad died and from what I've heard they worked hard at their marriage and shared a lot. If we're granted the same I'd be very happy.
Blue: My mum has sewn a blue ribbon into the waistband of my underskirt.
Having said all of this I don't actually believe the superstition! But I don't think it'll hurt any

I like this tradition.
Old- I have a beautiful lace hankie that my Gran gave me
New- The whole kit and caboodle of dress/veil etc...
Borrowed- That'll be tough. I too have heard the tradition that Ann mentioned and I was thinking that I'd like to borrow something from my Mum. She and my Dad were married 40 years before he died suddenly. It would bring him there a little bit more too if it was something that he had given her. She has a beautiful gold crucifix necklace. I may ask to borrow that.
Blue- My hair? My eyes? ha ha ha I think I'll do the garter too on that
This will all be for the MO wedding. We're bypassing this for the Feb one.

 Ah the power of persuasion
Well have you borrowed anything off one of your friend that you've forgotten to give back yet Or can you pinch something out of Fh's case when he gets to you and return it to him later... Wear his boxers under your dress or something
I know you said your mum lives too far away to come through for this one so could you maybe ask you FH to borrow something from his mum for this one, he has to come up anyway so it's not like it's get lost in the post. Plus she might like it!

You could do both! I think the boxers would be a kind of kinky surprise for your wedding night!
ETA: oh you could see if he had any old blue boxers and cover them all at once!

Old: Borrowed grandmother's old ring (and the stone had a blue tint, so that took care of the "blue" requirement)
New: Dress/veil/headpiece, two pearl bracelets (two seprate gifts given with the last few days), shoes.
Borrowed: See ring above. Also, my mother's earrings (in all the chaos that morning, I forgot to put in the ones DH gave me, and I suddenly remembered in the limo).
Blue: Aforementioned ring, garter

I didn't really pay much attention to it, but I had....
old: depending on your definition of old, my pearl jewelery...I suppose
new:dress, shoes, veil...
borrowed: borrowed my sister's crinoline & her pearl jewelery
blue: my eyes? really i had nothing blue! it SHOULD have been my garter, but i didn't do one. I will for v-day though. DH just informed me last night (1.5 YEARS after the wedding nonetheless!) that he wished I had one. So I will get one for his birthday/valentines day

Old and borrowed were a pearl bracelet from my grandmother (had it wrapped around my bouquet) and a pin from my grandfather that I pinned into the hem of my dress. New was the dress and ensemble, and unless there was any blue on the pin from my grandpa, I competely forgot about blue. I am not superstitious about the old, new, borrowed, blue thing, I just did it it for fun! I was going to wear blue shoes (found them on Zappos, soooooo cute,) but really loved the white ones I found.

Something old: One of those friendship bracelets that you make our of string. A friend made me one about 7 years ago and it's even purple. Since it's not exactly elegant so I'm hiding it in my bouquet.
Something new: Dress/shoes/tiara
Something borrowed: FMIL's diamond heart necklace with matching diamond heart earrings. She wore it to her wedding and FSIL wore it to her's as well.
Something blue: I have a tossing garter that is blue and the garter FH gets to keep is white with purple and blue ribbon.

I am not totally sure what I am going to do either
Something Old, ??? does Alan count
Something New More then likely my dress
Something Borrowed, ??? I am hoping my bestest girl friend will come up with something creative. Her marriage is the happiest that I know.
Something Blue I think I will paint my toes light baby blue. Light blue, Navy Blue and Silver are our planned colors. I think my bouquet will be blue hydrangeas mostly
