My Purse and Bob
Sometimes I will ask Bob to watch my purse for me while I use the rest room or something equally mundane when we are out. Often times this means he is left "holding the bag" so to speak. yesterday I asked him to watch it for me while I went into the doctors office, and I noticed him grimace. Early this morning we talked about...... He doesn't like watching my purse..... is this a man thing or what?

LOL! Definitely. Mike isn't a fan of it either and will actually sulk while he's holding it.

FH hates holding it if i ask him too. One time he just took it from me and started acting all girly. that was scary. Now I don't even offer to leave my purse.

I only make FH hold mine if my hands are full and I'm trying to unlock a door or some such thing. I imagine he wouldn't be too keen on holding it otherwise.

When we were on our honeymoon we carried all our stuff in my purse when we went on shore (we went on a cruise). Well with all the stuff we had, then the little things we bought, it got heavy! So Josh got stuck carrying a cute little polka dot purse around the Yucatan! Well I told him to hold it while I went to the bathroom, but when I came back he didn't have it!!!! I started to freak out.. until he turned around! He had bought a Corona backpack and put my purse in it! LOL He said it was more manly than polka dots!

If we are out and I ask him to watch my purse he will do it. But I could never ask him to hold my purse. I really don't know what he would say.

Mo doesn't want to hold mine! lol.
If he's a bit drunk he will hold onto it for me but start taking the piss and prancing about like a big girl!
What he hates worse than that is going underwear shopping with me, coz I tend to run out of hands and get him to hold bras for me My Doctor ran into us one day (they work at the same hospital) and it was too funny, both being dragged round the lingerie section of M&S by girls and having to carry undies. The look on both of their faces was priceless!

Okay, here's the background. Tom is reading over my shoulder, and he noticed someone say DH. He asked what that was, and I said, "Dear Husband." He then proceeded to rant about how he doesn't want me to ever call him that, because he thinks that sounds like you're referring to someone who has died, and, more specifically, probably someone you've killed.
I read Tom the question for the poll to try and figure out our answer. He said he didn't love it, but didn't really care. I said, "So you're a knight who doesn't mind holding my purse?" and he responded: "Knight?! My name is Tom, and I hold your purse when I have to."
Long answer to a simple question, but I thought it was very funny.

DH never had a problem with it.
Getting OT, ever ask him to buy tampons or pantyhose?

He was with me in the tampon aisle once and he was amazed at all the different options. He was actually asking questions about the different brands and kinds. It made me laugh a lot.

Oh I don't know Bob has been with me when I buy tampons and panty pads. I don't know how much that would bother him. We buy them at costco so we don't have to buy very often....... Like Annie, Bob actually helped me pick out the brand I use now, Tampax Pearls. :-)
BTW, DH to me is Darling Husband. Does Tom like that beter CW?

No on the tampon thing. I am paranoid about not having the ones I want so I am always fully stocked. But I know he would do it f I asked him to! He would probably just find some obscure out of the way drugstore, hee hee.

Yeah, Josh is a big fat no on the tampon thing. Even if I run out and desperately need one immediately he calls his sister and tells her we have an emergency and need her! He's so stupid!! LOL

Oh God this is funny!!
My FH actually took my purse from me while I was standing up trying on shoes at an outlet mall. I looked at him kinda funny I guess and he said ' What? You can't hold it and balance yourself all at the same time can you?".
So I guess I'd have to say he likes it! He's taken it, watched it, held it etc...and has never had a problem with it.
And he REFUSES to go in it. He will bring it over to me and make me get out whatever it was but he was taught never to go through a lady's purse! Which I find adorable!

You should've seen what happened the first time I ask for pantyhose! All I said was "Nude" and the size (plus I mentioned the size chart on the pachage). He came home yelling at me that I can't have him do that - do I have any idea what his brain went though in the pantyhose aisle? So many choices! Somehow, tampons went over better. He still doesn't like doing it, though he'll go if I ask.

Purse - I don't know how my husband feels about it. I've never actually asked him to hold it while I'm not around, but I have asked him to watch it when I need to go do something. Since it's sitting on a chair or next to him, he doesn't actually have to touch it. I will say, though, that when we go on vacation, he takes turns with the backpack, which is a purple Powerpuff Girls backpack (my backpack - not my daughter's). I do notice that he won't carry it on his back unless our daughter is with him (probably wants to make sure everyone thinks it belongs to our daughter).
Tampons - He's bought them for me before; I just have to tell him what kind and he'll buy them. I do notice that he also buys a bag full of "camoflage" items, though!
Pantyhose - Not only has he bought them when I've asked him to, but he's even bought them for me as stocking stuffers at Christmas. He's so cute about it because he'll look in my lingerie drawer at the tags in pantyhose that I already have, so that he knows what size/style/color to buy.

I voted he couldn't care less, from what I remember... it's been so long since we went out without a diaper bag!!! My purses are pretty utilitarian bucket bags, tho. I don't really have anything that's really girly but I doubt he'd care if I did. He's not the type to care about that stuff.
He has no problem buying tampons for me... my problem w/ him is actually that he's likely to come back from Costco w/ the lifetime supply box of Tampax. He's funny, he says it'd be more embarrassing to buy condoms by himself (I just asked him over IM and this is what he said).
As for pantyhose, I hardly ever wear them, I really despise wearing them. The last time I bought two pairs was for BIL's wedding last April and I swear it took me 15mins to try to figure out what I should get. It had been a couple of years since I'd bought any before that, I didn't even wear them for my wedding. I'd never ask my husband to do that for me, to buy them for me. I figure if it's confusing for me, it'd be torture for him. Anything that has to do with buying clothes, actually. I like him to go shopping for clothes w/ me b/c I like to see his reaction ( and/or is what I'm going for) but my size varies greatly according to the style/cut so, again it's confusing *for me* and I wouldn't want him to have to deal with it by himself.

Asking most men to pick up tampons is like asking him to chop off his arm. LOL.
