Default new here...
Hello! My name is Amanda. I've been lurking on this board for a week or so and finally decided to join. Everyone has a lot of great suggestions.

I don't have a grand story to tell. Nothing romantic or anything. We met online when I was 13 or so. Just talked in passing. Finally met in 98 when I turned 18. I moved in with him 3 months later. So we've been together for 6 years. We have a 4 year old son together. Never really talked about getting married. He finally got that good job we kept hoping for that allowed me to quit my full time job all together and become a SAHM. So in order to get health insurance through him we have to get married. We had planed on going to the courthouse and I was okay with that since that's what he wanted. But his Mom convinced us otherwise so we're just doing a small chapel thing. It only seats 30 people so it will only be close family. I had to go buy the rings because he said he didn't care. Although he did say he liked my decision. I already got the dress too. I'm really excited about that. Our date is set for April 22nd. (We liked 22 because our son was born on July 22.)

So that's it.. nothing romantic. He's romantic in other ways. We just both really hate being the center of attention so we'll see how this all goes. His Mom is making most of the plans because I have NO idea. We're keeping this as cheap as we can because we don't see the sense in spending a lot of money on something that lasts one day.

I look forward to getting to know everyone.

yayyyyyyyyy someone new! Welcome to the boards! I have been with my fiance almost 6 years. We, too, are having a nice small ceremony. He has 2 girls, I have 2 boys (it's the story of a lovely lady...). Well I look forward to hearing more about your wedding. Enjoy it!
