It's probably more appropriate to have started a new thread for this question than continuing it on the Front Desk sticky thread anyway...

As Heather mentioned in the original thread, lavender would probably look very nice on a redhead, as would other shades of purple, probably. As far as "champagne"--it probably depends on exactly what shade it is. It could make her look very washed out, especially if she's pale. Is there a dress she could try on to check the color? Probably a good idea no matter what color you pick.

Redheads also generally look STUNNING in green.

No pink, yellow or orange! (says the redhead who looks horribly disgusting in all of those colours).

I'm going to go off of what looks good on me. Champagne makes me look either jaundiced or like a corpse. However, not all redheads have very pale skin, so that is something to take into account.
Purple is my favourite colour, and does look great unless it's extremely pale, since it blends in with my skin already (super pale skin again).
Green is amazing, especially emerald green or a dark green. Lime green not so much, but again that's just because I'm extremely pale.

It sort of depends on what colour red her hair is. If she's more of a "carrot top" then some colours will be better than others. I have more of a ruby red hair colour.

ETA: H, I'm insulted that you didn't remember me as having red hair in the other thread :P

I am a red head, well strawberry blonde to be more specific. I look good in chocolate brown, purpleish blues, green, and a few others. hmmmm no champagne I look washed out. Yellow red and orange are no nos for me too.

LOL! I did remember right after I posted and then thought - eh, if the OP posts another thread, Ciarrai will see it, too.

I personally like green for redheads...one of my bridesmaids is a redhead, and we went with an emerald color.

Another red-head chming in here.

I look great in almost any shade of green or purple, turquoise/aquamarine.

I look okay in orange, navy, black.

I look hideous in some pinks, beige, khaki, brown, flesh, champagne.

Depends on the shade of pink. Some are okay for some redheads.

This is totally not directed at you, but it stems from this. Why do brides make their bridesmaids wear dresses that look horrible on them!?!? A friend of mine is getting married next year, and her dresses are awful. They don't look good on any of her four bridesmaids! It's not just the style but the colour makes them all look dead. I have no idea where she picked up those dresses, but they're horrid.
Sorry, rant over.

Well, it's not about what they look good in, its about coordinating with my colors. isn't that how everyone picks their colors? Actually, one of my BM's requested pink! my original color was going to be a midnight blue but one of them complained! it's obvious that it's impossible to please everyone...

i am actually trying to please them because i am letting them all pick their own dress, as long as it's in the same color. they can pick halter-top, strapless, whatever.... they are all VERY different shapes.

i have had to wear a multitude of colors in my day. i have had to wear bright red, light blue, brown, black... its part of the tradition! i didnt mind...

I guess I'm weird. My colors were hunter green and cream, because I wanted dresses my bms would look good in, and the only colors all four very different colorings would look good in were hunter green and navy, and I hate navy. Color picked.

No, I choose colours based on what people look like in them. I don't want my girls to look awful in their dresses just so they can match my colour scheme. Then again, my bridesmaids will wear black.

Again, I was totally not aiming my rant at you, this thread just reminded me of it. I apologize if you thought I was ranting at you .

On the other other hand, all black makes me look like death warmed over. Whenever I'm doing tech theater, people ask me if I'm sick.

You should choose whatever colors and dresses you want to choose. And you're right, if your BMs all want something different (midnight blue vs. pink, for instance) you're never going to please everyone. I've seen several weddings where the BMs were in different dresses all in the same color, and it looks very nice--because they can pick a style that works for their body shape. So that's a really nice way to go for your girls.

everyone has such different opinions about what they would look good in. personally, i think i would look terrible in hunter green because i am so pale.

i am going to pick a berry-colored dress instead of a "baby pink". i think it wouldn't be SO bad to wear...

I didn't mean to imply EVERYONE looks good in hunter green, just that it was one of the few colors all four of MY bridesmaids looked good in. Actually, I don't recommend it for BM dresses--it's a b!tch to find. Everything is sage.

Like some of you girls, I am a red head as well. I was in my sisters wedding what color does she stick me in RED!!!
So I agree with the other ladys, green is awsome on red heads, as well as browns and purple. I often find my self wearing blue as well.
