Default A match in eyeliner heaven

Well folks, the long awaited Wentz-Simpson union was made last Saturday and Papa Joe Simpson's house in Encino. *And the punk gods rejoiced* Apparently the couple was true to their seudo-goth roots and made sure to infuse their decorations and fashion with familiar traces of emo trends. For example, the bridesmaids and groomsmen donned black nail polish and the guests were told to wear dark colors. Their altar was adorned with a large Gothic-style cross and if business was as usual, there was as much guy-liner seen around as eyeliner Whether the wedding cast's bangs were required to cover 3/5 of their faces remains to be seen...
However, tradition couldn't be totally thrown to the wind (thankfully) and it's reported that the bride wore a Monique Lhuillier dress, while her bridesmaids wore Vera Wang. *happy sigh*

All jokes aside, they really are a cute couple and I wish them the best! Here's to them providing us with a future full of teen-angst ridden music, androgynous style trends, and wicked cute rock star babies!

Unfortunately, I give it 6 months. 18 months if she really is pregnant.

Default Reception

I read recently that the theme of the Wentz-Simpson wedding was Alice and Wonderland. This may sound a bit of a stretch for a wedding reception but according to most descriptions, they seemed to pull it off. The guests were asked to dress in dark clothing, but I believe that the furniture was a red color to give off the effect of the "Queen of Hearts" character from the movie. The cake had multiple layers made of things from the mad hatter's tea party such as a teapot, a flower, and I believe a stopwatch. Guests weren't allowed to have phones or cameras at the reception, but they're parting gift was a box with a cookie that said "eat me." I thought all of these ideas were really cute and clever, and maybe even a good theme for any wedding, celebrity or not.

I think a cookie that said "eat me" would be a poor choice of words to give to your guests at a wedding. Do you have no respect for the people there? Simpsons wedding could get away with it, just because of who they are, but your average Joe....I don't think so. Unless you had a cookie monster wedding. But then if you go down to the level of a sesame street wedding, you really need to grow up and maybe not get married at that point.

I think they did it because of the part in the movie with the magical cookies. I really don't think it was intended to be scandelous by any means. but nonetheless your opinion does hold validity, and you're probably right, the average joe wouldn't be able to pull that off. I do think it was a clever idea though sticking to the movie like that.
