Default long BM dresses in august

although my BM dresses are halter tops, they do have long (but thin material - taffeta) mermaid skirts. the ceremony AND reception are both indoors. still... do you think it's a fashion no no to have long skirts in august? just wanted some opinions, even though it's too late to change, lol... anybody else having long BM dresses? anyone having a SHORT wedding dress since it's august?

just be interesting to know!

I dont see a problem. I think the long dresses will give it a formal feel.

I think it will be perfect, especially since it's in a lighter weight fabric.

MY FH's friend's FI is wearing a short dress for their August wedding. From what I hear, it's a very Pam Anderson dress. :/ But I think there are a lot of really classy looking tea length wedding dresses out there.

My bridesmaids had long dresses for our wedding in August. They were very light fabric (chiffon) spaghetti strap dresses. Both our ceremony and reception were indoors, and I don't believe the dresses were too hot for the girls.

In addition, I had worn the exact same dress (as a bridesmaid) a month earlier at a wedding in Hawaii, and it didn't feel too hot or anything.

So I think long dresses for weddings in August are fine!!

Mine was in June, and last year I was in a wedding in July. Both of them had floor length BM dresses - and everyone was fine in them.

For the wedding I am in this coming October the dresses are tea length - but we'll be in the Caribbean.

I think either works just fine - just depends on the style you like and the formality that you're going for.

Long dresses are fine in the summer. I've found that a more frequent problem is that with the over-air-conditioning, some bridesmaids get cold in the light-weight strapless or spaghetti-strapped dresses.
