Default Appetizer platters

I am looking for 12 severing platers. They can be Black or silver! We are putting one on each table with the Eiffel Vase in the middle and putting fruit and Veg. all around the platter. I'm just having a hard time find a serving platter that does not coast a arm and a leg. I already have $52 spent on each table so I have to watch. I only planned on spending $40 a table.

Have you tried a party store for them? My SIL used to do cookie orders for people and she would go there to get platters for them. They are like the big silver ones that come under the sandwich trays that you would get at the grocery store.

I would have sent you to Target's clearance but the only black chargers they had were sold out boo. So I recommend trying a party rental place or party outlet store.

I know cra5h when i seen those black charger I got all excited and they was OUT OF STOCK! I tried the party store and the ones they have had a ring in the middle where u put like a dip bowl or something. The hole was not big enough for the vase to fit in.
breezy thanks for looking I have looked on ebay and can't find nothing big enough. They have to be 18" platters so there will be enough room to fit the vases and fruit and veg for 7 people.

The only other option I can think of is that if you can't find what you're looking for you could have tiny ones in a circle around the vase in the middle...

Seven individual ones would be more hassle to set out but I think they'd look fine. And it might be easier to find little dishes...

I wounder if those black platter look OK. We are going to cover them with that green leaf that they use on buffet. So I don't guess it matters what it would look like. $4.49 each ant to bad.

I suppose these are too small, but they're pretty & cheap

Do you have a party america or a paper warehouse near you? I KNOW we've gotten cheap-o platters from there before, but I couldn't find them on their website

We just had a Tuesday Morning store open up about 20 min from here. I haven't checked it out yet but I will now. When I passed it I thought it was a junk store I guess I was wrong. Thanks...

Have you checked the Dollar Tree or Dollar General? They usually have trays, and the Dollar Tree....everything's $1. Or two for $1. I MUST get to that store for supplies....

I was at the Dollar Tree this past weekend and didn't see nothing that worked. I will have to look at the Dollar General. I'm not trying to be cheap well maybe I am. lol But I can't see paying $20 a platter when it will be covered with that green leaf stuff. Thank ladies I'm making a list of places to go on Wed.

That's the bad thing about the Dollar Tree, you'll go in and find something really cool and awesome, go back to buy it, and it's gone. Good luck in your search though!

Have you checked with rental centers? You can usually rent silver trays for a very reasonable price. If you don't have a later need for all of them, then renting may be the most reasonable way to go.

I just check the rental place price list and they want $10 a tray. That another $120 plus. I would hope I could buy something for that and resale it after the wedding...

Well, just a warning about Tuesday Morning--- they have great stuff at tremendously low prices. But if you see something you might want, you need to buy it when you see it, or it probably will be gone when you go back.

Just before Christmas, they had some Le Cruseut oven-to-table wear, several different sizes. I got an oval casserole and a rectangular one, each normally over $150, for $34.

And 600 thread count sheet sets (king or queen) were on special for $59.00.

I spend way too much money there.

Thanks wynelle for telling me about Tuesday morning. They had some 18' plates that was red it would of been great. They only had 3 so I didn't end up getting them. I did find some party plates and napkins for my rehearsal dinner. I also got a few little gifts to put up for people. I like to have extra gifts around for things I forget about. The lady there told me they do get some silver platters in there every now and then. She took my name & number and told me she would call when they received them. I'm going to Beckley one day this week so I'm going to check at Value City to see what they have...

yes, the plates that we got were 10"...but there were serving platters that were larger...they were not perfectly round...almost oval-ish...but not long skinny oval..
