It's your wedding, do what you want, don't worry about what the older crowd will think. I think it looks great. Good luck.

I personally *love* the hot pink and red together!! I went to a wedding last July that had those colors....the BM dresses were black cocktail dresses, but everything else was red and fuschia...it was awesome and fit the couple perfectly!!
Who cares if the older crowd doesn't like it...mauve and dusty rose are the colors of my grandma's bathroom...good for old people...but it's not my grandma's wedding....

i get what she's saying, but i'm definitely not going to cater my wedding decor to older folks - if that was the case, my BM would wear puffy sleeve, floor length dresses and my dance music would be from the 1950's!
the only thing i was remotely worried about was it being too valentine's day. i think you have to be a little careful about not letting it look cheesy ya know?
i'm glad ya'll like it so far! reassures me!

I think done properly and tasteful it can be beautiful! Just be aware of the cheesy factor and keep it simple!
But I love love love what you have posted so far! It all fits together very well

I love love love that color combo! I so couldn't picture it when I saw the title, but seeing the pictures I think it's really bold and chic at the same time.
I don't think it will look Valentine-y as long as you steer clear of heart shaped favors and things like that. Can't wait to see more pics of this!

thanks ladies... i really needed to make sure i wasn't the only person who thought it could work & that everyone at my wedding would secretly be thinking, "oh... my..."
hah.
here are some more pictures in case anyone is ever thinking of doing this / searches this forum for it. the colors are a little off in the invitations (it's from martha stewart weddings) but i think it still shows the colors can be done in a "classy" way:
now with these colors, do you think the BM (who are wearing the dark hot pink) should have matching flowers or contrasting flowers to their dress?

I would do contrasting colors to show off how freaking cool they look together.

I agree, I think they should have the contrasting color. Otherwise the flowers will just blend into the dress and that's no fun. If you're going to go bold with colors, you need to have fun and let the flowers show.
