Smile Dress Fitting

Had a dress fitting after work tonight (so avoid looking at the state of my hair ) thought you might like to see the results.

I'm waiting on Mo leaving the room so I can open the file with my dress in it but he's seen the shoes alread so you can see them just now! I bought little ballet pumps to wear coz I don't want sore feet! I've been looking at heels for the ceremony and the reception but I've not really found what I'm looking for yet... So I may end up wearing these for the whole day.

I'll be back ASAP with the pics of me in my dress Oh and a little surprise about my outfit that I haven't told *anyone* about yet. (except my mum coz she's making it...)

Those shoes are too cute! I wish I could find something like that. I would buy them in a second.

I got them at a wee shoe shop in the tiny town I live in, they were only £15 that's maybe $25? something like that... total bargain!

Well... Just took Mo home so I can go edit the pics... back really soon

Alright I'm back
Didn't think it'd be fair to come back with just one pic after making you wait so long so here you go...

First one of me in my dress...

Another one much the same...

Please excuse the masking tape, My mum's due to paint that door behind me ETA: also excuse the black bra strap and green watch! Just noticed them

This one shows a close up of the beading on the bodice. Didn't have a picture of it before but some of you asked about it months ago...

Now please excuse the frizzy hair and red skin but I couldn't be arsed doing anything about it! It was after work so I just wanted to get on with it....

OK, well on to the secret... I seriously haven't told anyone about this but thought my secret would be safe with all of you!

As some of you have seen the older pictures you'll know (though maybe not remember!) I was trying out different veils... Well I had a little idea and thought I might go for something a little unusual so... I've got a cloke instead!

What do you think???

Got to say I'm in love with it! It's not even sown together yet! I'm covered in pins in that picture and my mum tried to talk me out of taking a photo of it but I really wanted you all to see it! I *love* hoods and this one has a really big one. I'll probably have it pinned to my hair for the ceremony but down afterwards...
It's quite practical too because it's still going to be pretty cold over here in May.

It won't be quote as long as it is in this pic (though my mum wants to leave it really long...) I think that might be impractical...

I love your idea!!! I think it looks so cool and different! Yeah it might be just a little impractical because it is really long, but you could shorten it some!

Thanks everyone!

My mum tried to convince me to get a new dress made She always wanted to make me a sort of gothic/celtic inspired dress but I wouldn't let her go to all that trouble when she's still got to make her own dress and my 2 flowergirls' dresses but she was really excited about making the cloke! She loves this whole wedding thing (I'm the only girl in the family). She was really sweet about it.

I'll let you see some more pics when it's finished, I'll get some close ups so you can see it properly. If I'd done that today youd have seen it pinned on me inside out and covered in pins

I know just what you mean about the ticker LJ... Can't believe I got to the 3 month mark so quickly. I feel like I've got so much still to do... I've got this week off though, don't have to go back to work till friday so hopefully I'll get some done. Would you believe I've already got people asking what they can buy us? My mum's neighbour is coming to the evening reception and she was asking if she could buy us cutlery! It just seems too much, I've only met her once!

I love the cloak idea! Very creative AND practical, it'll make you look like a "vision". A tiny suggestion: would you flip up the sides of it before your processional, so that it covers your shoulders but not the embroidery on the bodice? Just a thought. And, I still love your dress. It's a great choice. How sweet of your mom to be so excited and doing all that stuff for the wedding!

You'll be really surprised with the gift thing, we received gifts from some people who weren't invited to the wedding & we hadn't seen in forever. It's sweet, and makes up for those who don't RSVP or who do saying they'll come & then don't.
