Getting Parents to pitch in

Ok, so here's my ramble/gripe session. FH and I were talking yesterday about how neither set of parents are really helping us out with the wedding. We don't necissiairly mean financially, but even just offering to help do this or that. I still have yet to receive any money from my mother for my dress, which she said she'd help pay for. I've asked both moms opinions on different things, and also asked them about fixing side items for the buffet if we go that route. I know both moms are excited about the wedding, so it's not because they don't want us to get married.
And now that I re-read that, I know if I ask something directly I'd probably get what I wanted. I know I would from my dad, he's never told me no about anything I've asked him (within reason). I guess it's just getting close...or closer at least, and I'm starting to feel the crunch. Guess I need to do some delegating huh? Lol. Sigh....sorry, that was a gripe session.

I know what you mean. My mom and stepdad are doing the same to me. it is so frustrating. I know this sounds mean, but i flat our asked my mom
"Are you not excited about the wedding, is that why your NOT helping me, or is it because you dont approve?" She is Willing to help me put things together, but not pay for it like we originally agreed upon. I'll listen to you gripe because I know what you are going through.

i dont have the same problem

as both my mum and FMIL are helping sometimes way to much

but i know if they where not helping would feel the same i am sure it will work it's self out
