Default "Old-Fashoined"wedding

The theme for my wedding is old fashioned romatic, medievil times mixed with 1900's if possible, I am trying to think of how to to make it more old fashioned, my dress is posted in weding dress pictures but here is one pic

my finace is wearing completely white tux with a green tie, bridesmaids are wearing pink gowns, and the boys are wearing white tuxes green ties (colours are pink and emeral green), his best man is actually a girl and shes going to wear a emerald green dress.

I am going to get my daughter a parasol to carry down the isle while throwing the petals, the wedding is outdoors in a gazebo... but how do i make the wedding more old fashioned and especially the reception hall??

I thought about getting a harp and violin player to do bridal entrace but they charge 450 bucks for an hour...

any ideas?

I guess I am confused by old fashioned..... Do you want mostly medieval --to match your dress-- or want something reminiscent of the early 1900's?

Somehow the way you describe the site and the 1900's part leads me to thinking about summer time on Martha's Vineyard, playing croquet, a string trio or quartette........ lots of organza (is that what it's called????), old fashioned flowers --a June bride could carry peony's! and they are in season then! The parasol isn't what I picture for a little girl during that time, but thats just me... I picture a big hat with a ribbon around the crown of it ...... But that's just me and my romantic ideas!

Welcome BTW.....

You may have better luck with future hubby than the little guy!

I dont know why I'm spacing the name, but I'd have FH wear a coat with tails, etc and a bowtie instead of a tie. I'd also try and go for the live strings, maybe call up a HS to see if they have some good players who would do it.

I like the idea of the wide brimmed hat, that would be super cute. The parasol is cute, but it might be hard for her to carry that and the petal basket and toss petals? Not sure how that would work

I'd start by watching movies set in the time period you're looking at and drawing inspiration from there. If you're aiming for turn of the century, I'd recommend Mary Poppins, Easter Parade and Hello, Dolly (pay attention to the "Put On Your Sunday Clothes" scene)

As for music - is there a music school/conservatory by you? A college with a good music program? You could probably get students to play for a more reasonable price.

thanks i will watch those,

I am inviting 3 of our highschool teachers because we probably would have never met if it weren't for them, so maybe I could talk to the music teacher and see if any of the kids would be willing to play for the entrance... thanks I never thought of that. The college her does not have a music program...
