baby pink, ivory, gold and chocolate
any ideas of where to start? we have the dress, the colors, the site and the tenative date. the gown is Maggie Sottero Suzanne in Gold. The date is tenative for October 9, 2010. And our chosen colors are ivory, gold, and chocolate with baby pink accents. we were thinking a classic romantic wedding. the site will be an old remodeled black smith shop. how do we pull this together?

Congrats on your engagement!! I'm having a long engagement as well...I'm getting married in May 2010...so we're in the same boat!! I love the color scheme you've chosen...I'm still struggling with mine...
You have a good head state for this early in the game...
I would try and find some pictures of previous weddings at the location and see what they did...and see if any ideas are sprung from that...or go to theknot.com and look in the categories with your colors!
Good luck!

Ummm I've picked out a few places that I want to have the wedding/reception...we want both outdoors...but he's in the Navy and on deployment so right now nothing is definite until he can get home and help me choose! As far as colors...I can't decide! I love so many colors that I'm having a HUGE problem with narrowing it down to what I want! How did you choose yours?
I LOVE your ideas!!!!!

he actually chose ours. he loves me in light pink and chocolate. i fell in love with my gown (which is light gold) a few years ago and i dont look good in stark white so ivory is the base color and gold metallic as an accent

Have to say I love your colors!
As far as romantic and elegant, all I've got for you off the top of my head is to use really full, romantic flowers. Roses, peonies, dahlias. All of them can be found in light pink and ivory shades. Also, think about a lot of candles.

tablecloths
I hope I'm not too late by replying now, but have you thought about how your tables are going to look and what colors you are going to have on them? I know this tablecloth company has tablecloths at awesome prices and great colors, as well as superb quality. If you don't mind, the reason I'm suggesting this is because you might be able to find tablecloths to either match your dress, or simply put out a contrast in color to your wedding. That way your wedding will stand out much more. I have bought from them before to use on my wedding, and everything I ordered was just great. I'm pretty sure you already have something planned out, but just in case you don't here is the web address. http://linentablecloth.com/index.php
Good luck!
