HELP!!!!!
I need some help figuring some things out..and wanted some advice. Ok, first.. if you wanna help.. you need to take a look at my bio at this link. I've posted it before and was able to get alot of advice but now I'm in a pickle and would like more!!!

I can not get the fg's dress that I was considering. So, instead I'm going with something similar in style (as far as the sleeves are bell sleeves) but there is white lace on the bodice. Here's the link:

I already have my dress..so there is no changing that. I also have the bridesmaid dresses so there is no changing that either. However we decided a few weeks back not to go with the pink sash because it draws the eyes directly towards the middle of the waist and is not a 'flattering' feel to the bridesmaides who are wearing them ha.
So, we considered pinning a small pink bow at the bodice. Or..white pasminas.. or white lace shawls. I've gotten several people tell me that it's an insane idea and that the bridesmaid dresses don't look good with my dress and the flowergirl dresses are hideous.
Personally I am in love with the flowergirl dresses because they look so much style-wise like mine. The bridesmaid dresses CAN be made in some way to be more 'modest' and elegant in my opinion without just being so 'basic' and 'modern'..but I need help figuring what that 'SOMETHING' is............so suggestions would be soooooooooooooo greatly appreciated.
Should we stick with the idea of small pink bows pinned to the bodice? Or should I go with personalized white pashminas? Or white lace shawls? And, are the fg's dresses really hideous compared to everything else?????? I just really want everything to 'flow' if you kwim??? Please advice from anyone who has it!!! Thanks in advance!!!

Hey girl... I'm sorry you have people telling you that your choices are hideous. Shame on them (and screw 'em, too.) If they don't like something, there are better ways of expressing themselves as opposed to being rude about it.
I think the BM dresses are lovely, but without the sash. To me they look much more elegant as they are. If you try to add too much to them it's going to take away from it. I think with the butterfly trinkets in their hair and in the bouquets, adding more to the dress would be too much.
Remember that if they're holding their bouquet in front of them, you probably won't see the sash very well anyway. So, if anything, I would do a simple white pashima in case they get a bit chilly. (I wouldn't personalize it so they can use it with other dresses/outfits in the future.)
As for the FG dress, I think I commented before that it's a bit too formal for my taste, but they are very cute, too. Any little girl is going to look adorable in it. It's your choice!

awww thanks a lot Heather!! I wasn't going to personalize the pashminas with MY date or name or anything.. I was going to have it be a long-term gift for them..with THEIR first initial. Therefore they COULD wear it forever if they wanted to. Thanks so very much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you post a link to your dress? Or am I somehow missing it on your bio?
I agree, I think the bm dresses are nicer without any sash or added decoration. Very elegant. A nice wrap--whether in the same material, pashmina, or lace, would look lovely and be good in case it's chilly.
The fg dresses are a very different style from the bm dresses--the bm dresses are a modern, elegant style and the fg dresses a more historical, formal style. If your dress is a more modern style, the fg dress is going to stand out a bit, but if it's more like your dress than it should be fine. I think the fg dresses are cute, and as a former historical re-enactor, I've seen plenty of weddings done in everything from fantasy to medieval to victorian to civil war, and loved them. But if nothing else about the wedding is historical or Victorian, they'll stand out--not because they are hideous (which they aren't), but because they are a different style.
Hopefully some of that rambling made sense... I'm really tired...

Hmmm... I'm torn.
I LOVE the FG dress, it is gorgeous! However, it is SO similar to your dress (even a little "fancier", I daresay - b/c of the lace up bodice, the sleeve cuffs, the frill at the neckline), that I'm afraid it would take some of the spotlight off of you. I'm also wondering if the pink will still tie in without the pink BM sashes (I assume in the flowers).
It's kind of like Nov said - your BM dresses are fairly modern, and your dress and your FG dress are more "classic". Obviously, the bride can wear whatever she wants b/c she's supposed to stand out. But I'm not sure you want the FG to stand out SO much more than the BMs, and possibly even you, KWIM?

I think that if YOU like it...that's the only important thing...it's your wedding and you shouldn't allow others to change your mind!!! They can plan their OWN wedding hehe...
I would say that the fg's dresses are going to draw attention from you...they just stand out...something about them doesn't "fit" with the other decisions you've made...so I guess the flow isn't really flowing...(to me)...
I do think you need to add some sort of pink somewhere to tie in the fg's dress since you're taking the pink sash off the bridesmaid dresses...
But in the end...do what you want...there's no need to stress out over every little detail!!! I hope you're able to figure everything out...and I'm sure in the end it will all be beautiful and perfect!!!

Thanks for all the input. We looked at some different options on fg dresses but we really didn't fall in love with any of them. We're hoping that the closer we get to Easter then something will make more sense and we'll know exactly what we need to go with. We did this weekend, decide to go with black pashminas that have pink monograms (the bridal parties first initials -NOT MINE) on them..and we're still pinning pink bows on their bodice. And yes the bouquets are mostly pink (the flowergirl hats and baskets will have mostly pink flowers and ribbons on them) and we're also tieing in pink ribbon on the handles of the bouquets etc that they'll all be carrying (but we want it to be alot of ribbon so it'll hang down pretty far -kind of like the idea of the sash would have). I think that gives them enough pink for now. I've considered putting some of the pink daisies in their hair instead of the purple butterflies. I think it's enough subtle pink that once all tied in together it'll be overall gorgeous!!! We decided to go with the black pashminas because the grooms side is going to be all in black and purple with no ties to pink at all. So, I'm reconsidering the flowergirl dresses as a whole but still not sure how on earth or what on earth I'm going to do. Black maybe with purple sashes? with pink on their hats and baskets?? or something other than just solid pink and white like in the link???? I dunno. But if ANYONE has any suggestions as far as they're concerned I'd love to hear them. But I'm PERFECTLY content with the bridesmaid gowns now because I think it added just enough pink and enough to cover up to be more of a 'formal' feel like I wanted all along. yay!!

Hi...if you're here for advice and not just to advertize gum and bar stools (sorry if you're legit...I'm paranoid), you should start a new thread. You'll probably get more responses that way.
