Fiji/BoraBora/Maldives
Ok lets get started with honeymoons, as MOH i'm giving my brother and his fw their honeymoon as their wedding gift.
My brother and I narrowed it down to 3 places he wants to go, which are Fiji, Bora Bora OR Maldives.
Have any of you been to any of those places? Any thoughts or comments?

Whoa!!!! That's SOME wedding present! Would you like to me MY MOH? All I can say about any of them is . The more exotic, as those locales, the more it will be. Just thought I'd mention that as it would be a LOT to put on you financially!! Maybe steer them towards the Bahamas or Jamaica?

I was looking into the south pacific for my honeymoon. But alas- I can not afford it now that I'm buying a house
But in any event- I had researched the Tahiti area- and it seemed to me like Moorea was the nicest. Never been there though. I also understand that Fiji is beautiful

Damn- that's a lot of mula!!
I worked in Moorea for 6 months and went to Bora Bora for the day. LOL. Aren' I posh?! LOL
It's very isolated and there isn't anything going on so if they just want to be together and veg and get some sun- it's perfect. The accomodations can be quite spectacular especially if you get a "fare" ( raised hut on stilts) with the glass bottom in a portion of it so you can look down and see the sea life etc...

Absolutely! I'm thinking of starting up my own PASH NYC tour business--currently arranging for Allison to come out from Texas to visit me and bring her around the city!
Anyway, sorry, Shaks! Didn't mean to hijack your thread. Hmmm... Guess so far no one's been to those places....

I've never been to any of those places, but one of my good friends went to Fiji for about a week. She came home & showed me her photos & told me all about it. Her photos were AMAZING. it looked like a DREAM and she had a blast as you'd imagine. Although she was a poor college student & had to stay in one of those low-budget youth hostel things she still had a great time. Who wants to sit inside when you're somewhere as exotic as Fiji anyways?!
So, sorry, not much help here either, but I'm sure wherever you/they decide they'll be indebted to you. what a great thing for you to do for them!

Hi, Shaks18...
I haven't been to any of those places either but I do have some info that might be helpful to you...
Maldives
My cousin had planned a vacation in the Maldives and showed me the website of the resort she and her husband were going to stay at: http://www.oneandonlyresorts.com/oao...ang=0&sct=home
The website does a great job of taking your mind half-a-world away, doesn't it? When I had a corporate job I would find myself visiting that website quite often to escape for five minutes (ok, more like 15 ).
Unfortunately my cousin's husband became ill the week before they were to leave and they canceled the trip. Therefore I don't have any first-hand information to relay to you other than a travel website I use to get user reviews (go towards the middle of the following page under the heading "TripAdvisor Traveler Reviews"):
http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Rev...ani_Atoll.html
Bora Bora
Aman Resorts has the Hotel Bora Bora ( http://www.amanresorts.com/). Again, I've never stayed there, but we did vacation at one of Aman's other resorts. It was the most phenomanal vacation I've ever taken, and a lot of that had to do with the high level of service at the resort. So if the Hotel Bora Bora has the same level of service, it would be well worth it, but I understand that the hotel is an older hotel. Here are the traveler reviews for the Hotel Bora Bora: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Rev...y_Islands.html
I hope this helps in any way...
-Steven
p.s. How would I go about adopting you as a sister? Your brother should nominate you for a sister-of-the-year award!

I totally agree Steven.
Shaks, That has to be some amazing relationship you have with you brother. That is great that you are willing to do this for him.
