Lightbulb May wedding colors

So recently Brandon and I have begun to lean towards having a May wedding. There are sooo many color combinations that I LOVE and I can't decide!!!

How did you girls choose your colors...and any suggestions for May?? THANKS!

There were many different colors that ran in my head before I made a final decision.

Purples, oranges, reds, all rejected for one reason or another....but now my final colors are cornflower blue, a deeper blue (DB calls it "Serene") with accents of sunflower yellow. In October in Southeast Texas, these colors are still seasonal, plus they are pretty and yellow makes me smile.

Although down deep, I wonder if I didn't subconsciously pick blue and gold because of my deep and abiding love for the University of Michigan!

Seriously, go for what you like, what makes you happy and what you want to see in your pictures 20 years from now.

I had a may wedding in Florida and I chose pastel colors. I used pink, purple blue and yellow with a little green...let me see if I can post some pics! I love sharing. I wanted the day to be bright and cherry!

so you can see the flowers up close:

you can kind of see the pew decorations in this one:

I was married in April (in NY) and I went with the classic black, white and red. You can do whatever you want!

We used lavender, silver and white... it looked beautiful....

But you should go with something that both of you like and are comfortable with.... no matter what time of the year...

I had the same problem - I like ALL colors!

So I basically let my MOH decide. There are a LOT of colors she doesn't think she looks good in, so that narrowed it down a bunch. Plus I wanted something bright (i.e. not darks blues, blacks, or pastel), that would go with green (my "accent" color), and that they guys could wear without looking "fruity".

We settled on yellow. So next I went to JoAnns and bought swatches of the yellow fabrics I liked (b/c we're having the dresses made). I again gave those to my MOH, and she and my mom picked "the" one!

I'm leaning towards either blues or pinks...With blue I like aqua shades...and with pinks I like cabernet and wine shades...any ideas for accent colors for either?

I vote for blues! If you want you could do a couple shades of aqua for the dresses and then keep accents to the flowers. Yellows would really pop against the blues. Or pinks and oranges. Or red. Martha Stewart did a red and aqua... fab!

Here's some blue dress ideas...

Aqua seems to be a really easy color to find as of late. Have you looked at pictures on theknot? I got a ton of ideas there.

This IS my favorite color combination....but I hate the idea of combining black tuxes with brown something...I think it looks gross...and I'm not sold on the idea of having brown tuxes...so I don't know...they're definitely my favorite colors but there's NO WAY I'm combining black and brown...

Have you seen the brown vest/black tux color combo in person?

I actually felt the same way before my wedding and we ended up choosing chocolate brown and ivory as our colors after I saw it at an expo. After Hours does this brown vest with black threads woven into it and it really does kind of go with black...and I never thought I'd say that! LOL! It might still not be for you, but it's worth taking a look if those are your favorite colors!

That's better than ones I've seen...but I dont think I can bring myself to do it...haha...

But I was searching online yesterday and actually found some brown tuxes that were nice so we'll see...

Those might not even be our colors...we'll just have to wait it out till he gets home...
