Should I wear jewelry with my dress?
Ok, I am back on the wedding planning after taking several months off due to a crazy work schedule. I am trying to decide if I'll want any jewelry to wear with my wedding dress.
My dress is...

I do not normally wear jewelry; I'm a jeans and t-shirt kinda girl. My engagement ring is an pear shaped opal set in gold. I am planning to wear my hair half up and half down with a few yellow alstromeria in it (in the back); my hair is slightly longer than shoulder length, and straight. I do not have my ears pierced.
My concern is that the dress is pretty fancy as is, and going for much in the way of jewelry could look overdone. I do own a lovely set of pearls (heirloom) which I suppose would work (and be my something old).
Does anyone have any other ideas / thoughts?

Your dress is beautiful. I think a dainty necklace and earrings would look nice and I don't think it would look overdone.
Best Wishes

I agree a small dainty necklace would be very nice with the dress. If you have trouble finding clipon earrings or you find pierced earings you really like better, you can go to either Walmart (I think they have them) or Claires (I know they have them) and get a set of earring converters. The convert any pierced earring into a pair of clip ons really simply. As far as the necklace, something simple and dainty closer to your neck would be very nice.

I think a single pearl pendant, or a gemstone tear drop would look lovely... but a chain of pearls might be too much. I don't like the jewelry the model is wearing, either... I think it's too much.

I think a small floating diamond necklace would be beautiful with that. (Doesn't have to be real of course.)

A diamond necklace with small stud earrings will look very good with your dress.

I agree with the others, I think that something very simple will do it. Personally I like jewelry and every time I see a bride without a necklace I always find like something was missing.
Doesn't have to be something huge, it can be something small just to give that touch!!!!

Thanks for all your advice, and the compliments on my dress. I've doubted the choice a ton -- it took me 3 times of trying it on to settle on it (and I found another dress that I loved equally....).
It looks like I have to add an item to my to-do list now -- finding a necklace. This may be opening a can of worms (what with all the spammers), but can anyone recommend a reputable online jewelry store where I could find something inexpensive, yet classy looking, that would be something I'd wear again? I don't wear jewelry normally, and the only local store I like wouldn't carry stuff of the sort that would go with the gown.

Just chiming in on how lovely the gown is.
I think that the choice may be necklace vs earrings, but not both.
You might be able to find something lovely (and inexpensive) on eBay.

Very elegant gown! I think a necklace would be great with a strapless gown. I wouldn't go with anything too small. I wore a "small" necklace and earring with my gown and wish I had gone with something more because you couldn't even see them in the photos.
This is your day to "glam" it up and be the star attraction of "your" show!

I also think a single pearl pendant would be good and that's a very beautiful dress.
