color of MOG dress
My son is getting married in March and the mother of the bride will not be attending, so my future daughter-in-love has given me the choice of color for my dress. The wedding colors are silver and cranberry. Help!!!! What color can I use for my dress???

Congratulations, and welcome! I think you can pretty much wear any color you'd like--aside from white, cranberry and silver, then. I guess black is typically avoided, as well. But you don't need to "coordinate" with anyone. But if you don't want to clash entirely, maybe a navy would like nice with the other colors in pictures.

Welcome to Pash!
Jen read my mind... I was thinking that Navy would look beautiful with those colors.

Welcome to Pash and congratulations! I agree that navy would be lovely. What tone of silver is it? You could also go with a deeper metallic gray. I think that would be quite nice as well.
Sort of like this, maybe?: http://www.davidsbridal.com/mother_o...3&prodgroup=59
Good luck, I'm sure you'll find a great dress!

Welcome and Congrat!
I must ask where in OH? Myself and another here are in OH. I am on the lake.
I would say you could go with a spring color since it is March. Navy would also be a nice choice.

I say pink! PINK PINK PINK!! Silver plus cranberry plus a lighter shade of cranberry (pink) would look so pretty.

I disagree about not wearing silver or cranberry. Have you asked the bride if she's against you wearing either of those colors? My BM's wore pale green and MIL fell in love with a dress that was pale green (although it wasn't the same green as the BM dresses it was close, and a TOTALLY different style). She asked me if I minded if she wore it (she was concerned that she'd look like she was trying to be a BM) but I told her I didn't care because she really looked great in it and I could tell she LOVED the dress.
Anyways, I think navy, deep green, dark purple would all look good, but I do have to agree with Cru5h that pink would be lovely as well!
Good luck & welcome!

I like the navy idea as well. My mom actually wore black to my wedding, my sister and I went shopping with her and helped her pick out the dress, and I purchased it as a gift to her. Black strapless satin with embroidered white flowers on the bodice. It had an attached sheer wrap like the BM dresses. She looked gorgeous!

Oooo... navy sounds pretty. I'm not a pink fan (sorry Vic), but that would be nice, too.
My colors were a light blue and silver. My Mom wore a periwinkle. It was VERY similar to the color of the BM dresses, but just a tad different. Maybe find something like that.
What does the bride think?
By the way... I'm the other one in Ohio! I'm around Dayton! Welcome to Pash!

My vote is to find a dress that fits you and that you would love to wear and then see what colors it comes in.
If the bride has said that you can pick whatever color you would like, then don't make that the defining factor. Find the dress and let the color go with it because all of the colors listed here and many others would look beautiful so it doesn't really matter all that much.

Welcome on board!
I was thinking chocolate when you said cranberry but like Wembley said go try some on and see what suits you. There are a whole range or coours that would go really well with what you FDIL has chosen
Have you tried any outfits on?
Bebe: My mum has now changed her mind and she wants to wear black too! I'm all for it But Mo's mum said she's *definately* not wearing black

My vote would be a dark metallic grey or a lighter pink. But your color options are wide open.

I agree with the poster who said to find a dress you like first and then go from there. I would think that the only two colors off limits are black and white! Good luck!

Hi all!
The wedding was Saturday and everything went well!!! The bride was beeeutiful!!!!
I will try and post pictures as soon as I can.
I slept all day yesterday and am ready to nap today. The newly weds are in Kentucky at the new aquarium with their sons(she was married before, and my son is more of a father to her boys than their real dad.) They are having some family time together.
WHEW!!!!!! It's all over and everyone can take a deep breath!!! LOL
