Default Foundationd for oily skin?

Hey Rebecca,

I was wondering if you could recommend a good foundation for oily skin. I used to use Bare Ecentuals (sp) but I had the same problem whenever I wore it and had any kind of picture taken - I looked like I was wearing a white mask. I also have perpetually rosy cheeks - sun or no sun - while the rest of my face is very light. I tried using those blotting sheets but it seems to make my skin more oily sometimes. Any ideas?

Hello!
Many brides ask me the exact same question, so luckily I have answers for you

First off, many oily skinned people think that because they are oily they do not need to moisturize their skin. This is wrong! You need to moisturize with an oil-free moisturizer, like Cetaphil's oil-free moisturizing lotion. Believe it or not, this will help with "over oiliness".

Second, when it comes to foundation there are a few options. If you are the type of gal that likes to have a full face of makeup, then I would suggest a couple of foundations:

*Merle Norman's Luxiva Lasting Foundation (www.merlenorman.com) This foundation will dry after about 60 seconds and set and become waterproof. It's really great foundation and many brides love it, but make sure you visit a Merle Norman store to get color tested because it dries slightly lighter and you will need to get a color about a half a shade darker to compensate for that.

*Smashbox Cosmetics Conversion Creme to Powder Foundation (www.smashbox.com) Once you buff this cream foundation out, it will give a flawless, powdery, non-greasy finish. It's very lovely.

If you prefer to feel like you have less makeup on, then follow these two steps:

*Amazing Cosmetics Concealer (www.Ulta.com) Use this concealer to spot conceal any problem areas, but remember that a little bit goes a long way!

*Red Earth Powder Foundation (www.Ulta.com) You can apply this powder foundation with either a sponge for more coverage, or a large powder brush for a softer, lighter finish.

I know many of our members probably have thier own favorite products and techniques and I hope they will share them with us!

I have super oily skin and I use this facial mist everyday. It helps set my makeup, keep the oiliness down, even skin tone and moisturize, its fabulous.
