Default Hair advice?

I want to have a half up half down style, at the trial the tiarra kept flattening the top of it because of it's weight. So the only option was to puff it up at the top/in front with a lot of hair spray.
I don't like the look of "big hair" I just wanted an overall fulness, would it be best to have a part instead of it just swooped back? any advice as to how to go about this? Or any pictures of examples? Sorry if that's confusing, it's hard to describe, I'll try and find some pics to better explain.

I havn't been able to find any pictures that describe what I'm looking for...
Does anyone have suggestions on what my options would be for the top/front, how to wear the tiarra?

Are you going for a more "earthy" or a more "modern" look.

If you are going for a more "earthy" look, then I would party your hair down the center and then on each side pull part of it back into a twist or braid. That should give you a little "platform" to put the tiara on. I'll see if I can find a pic...

Here are a few pics (thanks to Rhianon, who shared them with me!)

None of them have a tiara, but I think one would work with any of them...

Julz that's so pretty, thank you! I'll print those out to show my hair and make up artist. I'm definitely wanting something earthy, and my main concern has been how it looks from the front, for the sake of pictures.

Here's a link to my photobucket folder with the wedding hairstyles that I gave to Julz and a few others too. Hope you find something you like. Also, I googled wedding hairstyles, and you can search in photobucket as well... (Not affiliated with these sites, just found them very useful to my hairstyle search)
