FH says I have to pick one and I can't!!!
I know it a simple thing but he won't choose and I don't want to choose the wrong one. My mother and FMIL likes the red one but 2 of my sister vote for the black. We have seen samples of both of these and they are equal in the looks. The Red one is $40 more but it fits in my budget. But the white is so simple but nice. I really like the red one but I'm scared it will look more like Christmas. Then with the white and black people might think it's more of a black tie thing. Help ladies how did u choose?

I like the red one better. I don't think it looks "Christmasy" at all. The black and white one is just too plain for my taste... but it is very elegant.
Anyway... my vote is for the red.

i like them both as well, but i think for your wedding, for the look you're going for, i prefer the red ones. The black ones do, like you said are more "black tie"ish, IMO.
Also don't think the red ones look christmasy at all.

I like the black. The red just screams Christmas at me. And I don't like the little design in the band of red around the edges. The black just seems more simple.

The black really says black-tie formal event to me. I would think the wedding is going to be very formal.
I think the red is beautiful and I wouldn't have thought Christmas until you mentioned it. I don't think it helps that it's pictured next to the ornament. I think on it's own, it will just be a pretty red and gold invitation.

Red, Red, Red!! I really love the red one. It is not Christmasy at all to me. I think the black and white is to, what's the word?, plain! The red adds a little punch of pizzazz(HEHE i never get to use that word)

The red has my vote -- I think it's very pretty and doesn't really scream Christmas to me.

The red one is beautiful, that'd be my choice. It doesn't look real Christmasy.

They are both lovely, but I vote red. It is a bit more unusual and will stand out when guests receive it. It doesn't remind me of Christmas; to me, it indicates that red is one of your colors.

RED!!!!!
As was mentioned earlier, the only reason it looks even remotely Xmas-y is because of the ornaments in the photo.
Goes with your theme and all too!

If your wedding and reception are going to be ultra-formal, then I vote for the black. To me, the classic black script invitations indicate that the event will be black-tie. If I received something like that, I would assume that I needed to come in a full-length ballgown and that my husband needed to wear a tux.
Otherwise, I like the red ones. They don't look to "Christmas-y" to me.

Those are both gorgeous, I see why you are having a hard time deciding! Since you asked how we decided; I narrowed it down to about 7 or 8 that I really liked, asked my sisters to pick their favorite one and had DH make the final decision from those. I LOVED my invitations! I don't think the red is 'Christmasy,' and if you went with a less formal font and wording on the black, you wouldn't have to worry that people think it's a black tie affair. Sorry, I am probably not helping...

OK ? What if I would get the black ones with red ink. It would still have the black boarder the ink color would just be red. I have to pay to change the ink color but it's not bad.

Personally, I like the red better, but this isn't about what we want - it's about what YOU want. Look at them side by side - does one "jump" out at you more? If so, there's your answer!
Sorry, but I looked at all the replies, and it seems to be evenly split. You know what they say about too many cooks in the kitchen...

I have looked at both and I really can't choose. I think I would pick the black and white if the red ink would look right. I'm just in the air!
Just to let people know if u order from Dawn's search the name of the invitation. I say this because I'm finding the black and white invite on there 3 different times. All 3 have different prices. I called and ask them about it and they said it's a sale...

I really like the red one. I think they are simple but have a splash of color. The black one's **to me** are to formal and plain looking.
