Default Favor trends!

I got the first issue of my free subscription to Bridal Guide magazine. Since we all know these magazines are comprised mostly of ads, I'll relay the stuff that actually means something to brides. I'm breaking down one article into pieces. Easier to digest

These are SO out of my league but they sound so fun and cool. Maybe it will spawn a cheaper yet just as cool idea from someone.

Variety boxes
beautiful boxes with crap inside themed to match the box, like an Italian inspired box with wine, cheese, figs and heavy cologne inside JUST KIDDING...no figs.... kidding again I swear. Or a salty-sweet themed box filled with peanuts, taffy, all that jazz. If I had to fill a box, that thing would have to be a ring-sized box filled with IOUs.

Mini bottles of Tequila in upscale brands.

Chocolate truffles filled with lavender, ginger or wasabi. EW sorry lavender?

Monogrammed chocolate bars.

This idea sounds so cute (and so expensive)
A "photo booth" set up with props like feather boas and masks. Photographers are also snapping shots of guests and presenting them with a framed photo at the end. How VERY Vegas of them. I think it's a cool variation of them receiving a framed picture of the bride and groom though

We considered hiring a caricature artist for at our reception. It would not have been so expensive except the closest place was a few hours away and you had to plan for their travel time. We did not time of this sooner but we could of went to the local college and seen if anyone there could of done it. Oh well. May be when we renew our vows if we do.

Chocolate and wasabi? WASABI? Can't imagine that being good. Finally, a trend I don't have to feel bad about not being able to afford.

hey... I just had a few ideas on this! And they can all be fairly inexpensive.

How about making a custom-blend trail mix? You know, to represent the long road ahead for the couple (growing old together) and the fact that you hope your guests will be a part of the journey. Or, for the "crunchy" couple (aka hippies) it could be a custom granola-blend.

And, instead of a monogrammed chocolate bar... remember the time there was a discussion on how to make your own cake-topper? I think Lisa Marie said it was fairly inexpensive to buy a letter-mold and make a monogram cake-topper out of chocolate. How about making one for each guest and putting it in a nice baggie? (of course, this would only look good if the bride is taking the groom's last name... hmmmm, maybe there would be a way to order a custom mold? with both the bride & groom's first initials?)

Anyway, that's all I got this morning. BTW, chocolate & lavender is a very French thing. It's an essence of lavender, and quite different from the lavender scents sold as perfume. In French cooking, lavender is used the same way as tarragon, thyme, etc. It's an aromatic used in soups, stews, etc.

OK whew I thought it was like...the lavender you'd find in a perfume. I've had that violet gum before. I thought it was wretched because it tasted like perfume, so I associated the lavender with that.

Those ideas are really cool rose!
