Default Programs??

I was thinking of things I could do now that I have at least a little free time and the programs came to mind. I don't know the exact order of the ceremony yet but I thought I could have a rough idea and then fill in specifics as they came.

Then I realized that I'm clueless. What goes in a program? What type of computer program would be best to make them in? Are there any rules or etiquette to follow? Can anyone help?

I tried to do this ahead of time also and I just got my self all confused. Things that I know that go into one is the names of your bridal party and what part the play. Any one who helped with the wedding. The names of each song. Not much help sorry.

I did my program in a program called PrintMaster... I got it at Wal-mart for pretty cheap. You can also do them in MSWord or something like that. I used that program because I happened to have it. Unfourtunately, I don't have a copy of it, so I can't show you what it looked like.

What goes in your program is the sequence of events for your ceremony... you'll need this copy from your officiant. Usually people include a list of who is what in the BP. Some people write letters thanking their friends and family. This is where, if you have a "memorial" set up somewhere you explain it. Mine was that I had a vase with 4 white roses... one for each of my deceased Grandparents. I just added a note explaining what it was and what it meant to me.

Programs can really be simple. I used regular white 8.5X11 paper and had black ink. I printed the main one off my computer and used the church's xerox machine to print the rest.

HTH!

I used Microsoft Office Publisher. I made my own and it was pretty easy. I included the order of events, ushers, MOH and BMs, BM and GM's, officiants, scripture reader, parents of the bride and groom, flower girl, guest book attendant, people passing out programs, and people serving at the reception. Then I had a little memorial for Josh grandpa, the only grandparent not still with us, and a special thanks to our family and friends.

PM me and I can send you mine if you like. I made mine up in Word. Bought them at Michael's. The officiant probably should have been up on the page more but oh well.

I just happened to be in Office Max one day about a month before our wedding and on sale were wedding programs/covers. Embossed no less. I bought like 100 programs for under 10 bucks. Anyway here is a link to what I put in ours. I just used Microsoft Works I think...... can't remember it's been a while now! LOL

oh at a recent wedding we went to the program was really simple. A regular size sheet of paper/card stock, folded in 1/2. they must have took them to a printer though because they had their picture on the front. I nice touch. They can be as simple or as formal as you want. :-)

I did my program in Word. If you PM me your e-mail address, I'd be happy to send it to you.

I made my program in Word. Like Kim's friend's, it had my pic on the front. My brother works part-time at Kinko's while he's in school. So, he printed them for me. He said they print from .pdf files (the kind that are made in Adobe Acrobat). He converted my Word file to Acrobat (part of the regular service they offer) and printed from that. I don't know how much it cost, though, because my borther gave it to us as part of our wedding gift.

If you want to see it, PM me with your e-mail address, and I will send it to you.

I made mine in Word as well. I gathered programs from other weddings and took what I felt were the best elements of each. I ordered some natural fiber paper (red) and went to Kinko's and had then custom cut some card stock (ivory) to print on for the inside. The front had our names and wedding dates, the left interior had our music, order of ceremony, thanks and memorial. The right interior had the parents, bridal party and officiant listed. I finished them with a single hole punch and tied them shut with a black satin ribbon. I have some extras leftover, PM me if you want me to mail one to you, or to email you a pic!
