Aruba, Jamaica, or Barbados?

Anybody have any advice on which would be better? Or better yet, anybody been to one or all of the three? We'd be going in October, right after the wedding. Jamaica is right in the hurricane belt, so we'd be taking a gamble. Aruba and Barbados are pretty safe as far as hurricanes go. We'd like keep our honeymoon to $4k or less. So that rules out Hawaii (ridiculously expensive there!) and Europe.

I haven't been to anyone of them but I know of a lot of Canadians that have enjoyed the Dominican Republic, mostly because of the very affordable all inclusive deals. The only piece of advice I would give you if you consider DR is to go for a 5 star resort. The rating systems are different there and you would want a 4.5 or 5 star at least.

We have been to Cuba twice and it was lovely, but as US residents, you would have to catch a flight in Canada, if you wanted to go there.

On another note ... when I saw the title of this thread, beachboys lyrics automatically popped into my head .... bermuda, bahamas come on pretty mamma. Now they won't stop!

I have been to Aruba! I LOVED IT!! What is so nice it that the whole island is 19 miles long. It is so nice and easy to go exploring. You can walk from resort to resort and use anyone's pools! I absolutely loved it. But keep in mind you are a lot closer to the sun there so load up on the SPF that is a mistake I WILL not make again!!! I havent ever been to the other 2 so that clearly defines my choice!!!

2nd on Auba!!!!!! Fantastic! We went there for our honeymoon & I'm telling you, you're not going to beat it. Weather is perfect year round. It's out of the hurricane belt. And everyone is happy! They call it "One happy island". If you decide to go, let us know because I have some advice on what to do while you're there You'll have so much fun!!!!

Jamaica: I've never been. I do have a couple cousins that have been there, and from what their reviews were- I don't want to go. One of my cousins stayed at the newer Sandals & still they didn't like it. If you can stay at Sandals & still didn't like the place, that really says something. You also aren't going to feel safe anywhere except on your resort. I have heard a few people who liked it. I think it's one way or the other, you love it or hate it.

& I've never been to Barbados either Nor have I heard from anyone who has. Sorry.

I have been to the Caribbean numerous times and we think that St Lucia is an awesome place for a honeymoon or wedding. Rendezvous St Lucia is for couples only and the Jalousie Plantation is a really cool place set between the famous Pitons.
