Default Placecard ideas

Here are a few placecard ideas we have looked at. Instead of names we would have a picture of the guest.

I'm not sure about the photo instead of name idea...

1) I think it would be harder to scan for your picture than your name when looking for your place (especially since the ones that fit in those frames tend to be pretty small)
2) If you're having a card table, where the cards are usually listed in alpha order, you're going to have more trouble setting that up without the names, and harder for people to easily located where they'd be
3) Where are you getting the photos? Are you going to ask each guest to send you one? If not, how can you be sure to get one they don't mind having shown (I HATE most pictures of myself)

But I think the frames you're considering are really cute.

Well my mom has done this before and it has been a hit. We have had several parties, engagement and such and we will have a planning party as well. Most of the guest we have or will have pictures taken of them. Thier names are also monogramed on the frame somewhere. People have actually said it was easier to find thier picture than reading all the names in some weird script.
Its also something the guest can take home with them.
We also like this as favors

well I did but mom said it was a bit cheesy.

So what you're saying is that during all of your parties you will try to get pictures of all the guests who will be at the wedding... even with 500+ guests? Wow, that's a full time job!

But, I think the place card/photos are a really cute idea. My mom is doing frames w/ pics of me & FH as favors for my shower, which I think is stupid b/c not everyone at my shower wants a picture of US... I'm wholey expecting to see "myself" at Goodwill after the wedding. I'm sure they would much prefer a pic of themselves, or them WITH us!

And I would suggest using one of the frame placecards instead of the "holders" b/c they are much more practical and reusable for your guests.

And I like the bottle opener favor, but agree with your mother that the flip flops are too cheesy for the kind of wedding you are planning.

I think the Idea of the tiny picture frames are good. Are they big enough to put a little slip of paper inside the frame with their names then after the wedding they could decide on their own picture, whether it is a picture of you or a picture of them they could decide. It would be easier than putting their picture in the frame. I also dont usually like pictures that I am in so I dont think I would want a picture of me on display at a wedding. Just my opinion though.

Actually most of the guest we already have pictures of them. My mom holds various parties almost every month and there is always a photographer. We are hoping to the rest done with the future ones.

I thought maybe during the reception the photog could snap pictures of us with the guest and them send the pic to them after the wedding to use in the picture frame. Ok I didnt think of it someone else did but it may be a thought.

I think I will use the sandles for a wedding party luncheon we are going to hold mid point. I agree they arent quite appropriate for the wedding we are planning. Thank girls I lov to hear feedback its really helps. Many times I am thinking the same thing but need reassuring.

I think the frames are adorable and fit a beach/tropical themed wedding perfectly.

The idea of having the guest's picture on the place card is a very unique one. Of course the problem would be securing pictures of those guests for which you don't have pictures of. Also having a picture of the couple and the various guests and sending them off after the wedding is another great idea. Your guests will have something to remember your wedding by and a photograph would be ideal to help them remember your memorable wedding event.
