Color help
My theme is pretty much going to be stargazer and Calla lilies.
My dress is white with black embroidery. The party will be carrying/wearing white Callas. I'm decorating my cupcake cake with callas (probably pink) and roses, using flowers for the top layer and petals for the cupcake toppings.
I'm contemplating what color I should use for my bridesmaids. They don't like pink or lavender (I'm not too keen on pink, anyway and was surprised that they were horrified with lavender), so hrmm.... I'm thinking maybe a red to match the roses, then?
Am I using too many colors?
Oops, I should probably add that this will be an early or late summer wedding. Red will probably be too hot, but then again, it'll be a late afternoon wedding with evening reception.

I think you can use whatever color you want, no matter what time of year/day. Really the style/material of the dress has more to do with comfort anymore than the color.
But personally, I think black would look incredibly elegant with the cala lilies and would coordinate with your dress nicely Do you have a style of dress picked out?

I second the black....and from experience let me tell you how thankful my BM's were to have a black dress they could wear again.

I wouldn't mind black...except I don't want people to think they're attending a funeral LOL and Oregon does have pretty hot summers.
No style picked out. I think I may just tell everyone to buy their own dress and whatever makes them feel comfortable -- as long as it's tasteful and doesn't steal my sunshine! :P

I have been to lots of weddings that had black BM dresses, and none of them looked like a funeral. As for the heat - it really DOES depend more on the style and fabric of the dress.

You may want to give them SOME guidelines for buying a dress. For example: color & fabric (b/c it can affect the color, even with black), long/short/tea length, sleeves/sleeveless/tank/spagetti strap, full/sheath/A-line, empire/natural waist, etc... if any of that stuff matters to you.

I know little to nothing about fabrics/dressing up! Help this tomboy out
Which fabrics are cooler and more breatheable (sp)?
I was thinking of a plain jane design like this http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p...e/10696903.jpg
