Help with flowers/accent for latte/cappuccino dress
Hi folks!
I'm new to this forum (joined today).
I live in Queensland, Australia and I'm getting married in November. I have a teenage daughter from my first marriage and baby number two (after a long haul on IVF) with my hubby-to-be, is due December. With two major life events happening almost simultaneously, my brain has given up working and I wonder if you would give me some opinions.
I will be getting married in a strapless stretch satin dress (to accommodate my bump), colour mocha/latte/cappuccino, whatever you want to call it. In keeping with the other thread of how to describe this colour, I think *most* people would take it to be the colour of an iced coffee milkshake.
What I'd like to know is what sort of flowers would suit this colour dress - at this stage I'm thinking cream roses with dark green foliage, and for photography purposes, would a necklace of cream pearls or golden-brown topaz come up best? I have olive skin and dark brown hair. I will not be having any attendants, so no need to take into account accent colours.
Many thanks
Sam

Hi Sam and welcome! Sounds like you do have lots to be excited about in the next few months! Congratulations on all counts!
I think your idea of the green foliage will be lovely with your dress-my bridesmaids wore "nutmeg" (who knew there were so many words for "brown"!) and we used sort of fall themed colors-bright oranges, pinks, yellows, etc. I know it's not fall down there, but those colors really did work well also if you're wanting additional accents.
When I was planning, I found tons of stuff online just from googling different word combos. You've picked a gorgeous color so you'll have no trouble finding something you love!
Again-welcome! Oh-and we LOVE pics here so get postin!!

Definatley a lot to be excited about.

I think your colors sound really beautiful. You could add a splash of color into your bouquet if you want - just a few red flowers maybe?
Congrats on the baby and the wedding!!

Welcome to Pash!!
I think Cream would look wonderful!! I think you can pair a variety of different colors with the color you are talking about. You could put a bright pink or hot orange or a more fall color.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding and new baby. Your colors sounds amazing.
I agree with birdie, I think a few red flowers would add a nice touch to your bouquet.

Welcome Sam! I'm also using latte (my bridemaids are wearing it) and we're going with deep red roses. The color is called "circus". Hope that helps!

Thanks, folks!
Hi everyone, and thank you for your great ideas. It looks like I will have to go with a plain cream bouqet because DH-to-be announced last night that he wants to wear a tropical shirt for the wedding! I don't think it's terribly appropriate for a chapel wedding even though it would be fine for our climate. I did suggest wearing something more formal for the wedding then changing into a tropical shirt afterwards (we're having more of a party than a reception afterwards at our home). So I think my bouquet will have to be as plain as possible in order not to worsen the clash.
Cheers
Sam

Welcome to Pash!
Just an idea...could FH wear an off white or latte colored suit with the hawaiian shirt underneath (no tie) to bring in the tropical look? That way it would be a little more formal for the chapel?
