Default Lynnsey and Michael - June 28, 2008

I'm starting this thread so I can continually update as my planning progresses. We are getting married June 28, 2008 at Chanteclaire Farm. Colors are red and aqua. I am having a maid of honor and two bridesmaid. I'm letting them pick their own dresses (one less thing for me to worry about). I am wearing a J. Crew dress (that I scored brand-new for $20!) and a lace mantilla. Here is a picture of me in my dress:

That's all I have planned so far. Stay tuned for updates.

wave question?

Hi Lynnsey! I'm not a June bride but I am a Morgantown area bride to be who also has a J Crew dress (35 bucks!) thinking about having our wedding at the Chanteclaire Farm. Of course, I haven't set up an appointment with the farm yet--just loving the pictures of it on their website. Would love to talk to you about your plans and ask a few questions.
Congrats!

Hi there,

It's nice to find another bride looking at Chanteclaire Farm. Do you also post on the Knot board? If so I probably already told you this but here it is just in case. The rental fee for the space is $23/person with a 100 person minimum. Chairs for the ceremony are an additional $2.50/chair. Catering starts at $24/person and appetizers during cocktail hour starts at $5.50/person. Water is included but she'll charge a lot for any other kind of drink. Luckily you can bring your own (including alcohol). Cakes start at $395. Waitstaff is approximately $16/hour/person. They arrive one hour before your ceremony starts and stay for an hour and a half after to clean up. For 100 people she reccommends 5 staff members (including herself and her husband as a bartender; they both get paid the $16 too). I don't have a dj yet but I found a photographer with reasonable prices. He's out of Baltimore but doesn't charge extra to travel. He charges $100/hour and you get a CD with all the images on it and copyright to print your own pictures. You can also order albums from him. Here's his website: www.chrishenryphotography.com. I hope this is helpful!

Rudy -

You may also want to check out Willow Pond Farm in West Alexander, PA and the Christian W. Clay Winery in the Laurel Highlands of PA. I think both are about an hour from Mo-town.

I don't know much about the Winery, except that it is a lovely venue. I am having my wedding at WPF. It is $2500 to rent the ENTIRE facility (300 acres, including a farmhouse that sleeps 14) for the day, $3500 to rent it for the weekend. It is a very private venue. You are in charge of all your own rentals, catering, alcohol, DJ, etc. (though most caterers will do rentals for you if you ask).

Also, I found a wonderful photographer out of Pittsburgh, who would likely travel to you: Shawn Mertz at www.mertzfoto.com. All his prices are on his website, i think. If you want to see more examples of his work (and more photos of Willow Pond Farm), check out my engagement pictures (you'll have to go to near the end of the thread).

Good Luck!

P.S. I am not affiliated with any of the venues or the photographer mentioned above... just a satisfied customer
