how soon before
How soon before the wedding did your FH go and get fitted for the tux? The place that I am dealing with want all the men to come in Feb to get fitted.... The wedding is the end of September!

Since it was prom season when I got married the first time, the men had to go in about 2-3 months before the wedding to be fitted.
7 months before the wedding seems a bit overkill... they could gain or lose a lot of weight in that amount of time. Did they say why they want the men in so early?

We already went in to have him measured only because then we got the special deal but they were surprised we were on the ball already and suggested the rest of the guys start to come in around February. We're getting married end of May though. February for you sounds really early.

They told me that men do not gain or loose that a women does so the earlier we get it done the better. I know my FH will gain some (not a lot) but so will all the guys. My dad has a big vacation planned a month before (which he says he gains 10 punds on every year he goes..lol)
I told them I would come in and pick out a style but not for fitting and not colors yet. My girls will order there dresses in April... When I get swatches from the dresses I can pick out the colors they will be in.

That sounds WAY too early to me. and WTF about guys not gaining/losing weight??? DH lost like 15 lbs in 3 months (started exercising). I don't think he went in until more like a month or 2 before the wedding. He's also been in lots of weddings, and for this most recent one he was in he went in NO MORE than a month before the wedding, and that wasn't even their deadline. 7 months is too early, IMO

I think 7 months sounds too early. I've been told 3 months at the earliest for the guys, it's slightly different coz they'll be in kilts and they have adjustable belt buckle but the same company does suit hire and they say the same for those... I'd be scared they'd loose my details/measurements etc if we went that early...

I got married in a February, so it wasn't "high" season for weddings or proms. My husband was only measured for his tux about four weeks before the wedding. The other guys? TWO WEEKS before the wedding. We had a total of eight guys fitted for tuxes (groom, RB, 2 jr. GM, 2 GM, BM, FOG).

i guess the one reason we haven't went is because we are not sure what we want. The Best Man and Grooms man are not really the tux type. I thought about just getting them a dress shirt made like my BM dresses. With a tie! FH knows he has to dress up and he agrees just because He don't want to dress down and look like crap beside me in my dress.

i had just called a tux place this week to find out when a good time to come in was and they told me the same thing. Feburary. they said come in a register and then we will have all the guys come in before the end of Feb for their first fitting. i thought that was a little soon since we are getting married August.

Who did you call? That's way too soon, IMO.
Also, where in MN do you live? I'm in St. Paul and could suggest a good place to rent from.

I would think that's too soon as well. He could gain/lose quite a few pounds between the fitting and the wedding. I suppose if his weight is very steady, it could work. I know Tom fluctuates by a few inches around his tummy area depending on a) how much time he has to work out and b) how much time I have to cook for him. I'd say try to wait it out a bit longer.
