Default Hugh and Elizabeth - It was Serendipity

We celebrated our firsts anniversary yesterday! Wow! I can't believe that the year has gone by so quickly!

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww I guess this means we aren't newlyweds any longer!

I started the day with a trip to my hairdresser and I told her to do whatever she wanted and so, she did! She told me that it was time for a "new look". When she was done, she called Hugh at home, to tell him that his "new bride" was on her way home. She also told him that my "do" was all her doing. LOL My hairdresser is the best - she was ready and willing to take a dive for me! Hugh actually likes the "do" so I guess my hairdresser is off the hook.

Here are the pics from our night out. If you look close enough, you can see my anniversary gift (gold earings).

We had a roast beef au jus dinner at Madison's followed by a spanish coffee & espresso for dessert. We didn't want to go straight home so we went down to Clyde's in Pointe-Claire village for a brazillian coffee, spanish coffee and home made apple pie. It was a lovely anniversary.

I ordered three things from ETSY for Hugh (we collect country signs & stuff for the cottage that we will eventually have).

I gave Hugh a hand made butterfly pop up card, a custom sampler and a custom house sign with our last name.

Something like this -

and something like this

I was teasing Hugh that he ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY, MUST live until he's 95, so that I get to celebrate a 50th anniversary.

Today, we celebrate Hugh's birthday with another dinner out. I have made reservations in a formal dining restaurant off the western tip of the island; Mon Village. We ate there last year, at the beginning of our honeymoon. I am still trying to decide if I am going to wear my wedding dress. It's probably overkill but I do so want to wear it again

Hugh just opened his birthday gift .... a bottle of Hummer. I liked the bottle, the price was right (ie on sale) and it doesn't make him smell like a truck at all!

Sounds like you had a great time. Love the hair-do and the signs, especially the last one, are cool!

Thanks ladies .... still getting used to the do myself. It's been a while since I have had short hair.

Weekend festivities - part deux

When I made the reservation for Hugh's birthday dinner yesterday, I asked if the private dining rooms were still available. The guy on the other end of the phone said "yes, there is a dining room". I made the reservation thinking that either I was mistaken about the private rooms or that the guy just didn't understand me (may have been a translation communication breakdown - happens all the time here). Anyhow, I fully expected that we would be sitting in the dining room.

Instead, we were shown to a room upstairs and it was just the two of us. The meal was fantastic and the waitress was wonderful. We had roast beef au jus again LOL It was on the table d'hote and the other choices weren't as appealing so beef it was.

Hugh wore his wedding suit and I wore my wedding dress again

I have posted more pics here - http://www.facebook.com/album.php?ai...d&id=716941196

BTW - can this thread be moved to "wedded bliss" now? I am too lazy to start another journal LOL

Thanks ladies. Yep, I love him more now that one year ago - if that's at all possible It felt so good to wear the dress again

I am thinking we should make it a tradition to do it every year on our anniversary. I am no dumb bunny - lol because it also means that we have to go to a restaurant which is befitting the suit and dress
