my cousin is going to shoot me...
... because I keep changing my mind. Grrr... why can't I just have five weddings so I can do all the color combos I have in mind???
Okay, so currently I'm looking at aqua and white. All white flowers, all aqua dresses, except the matron of honor will probably wear a shade darker.
But today I saw a pic on the knot of navy and hot pink. I think I'm in love. We haven't bought anything yet and the pink really popped against the navy... so what do you think? Cute? I'm deciding for sure before the end of the month! I'm so tired of changing my mind...
Oh, and another question. Do you think a plain strapless dress (a-line) with a wide sash around it would flatter most shapes? I have from a size four up to a size twelve. I figure if I make the sash wider they can have it right at the skinniest part of their waists and it would be more flattering than a skinny ribbon.
I'm turning neurotic. Add to that the fact that I started working out hard core this week and cutting out most of my "bad" food...
Sorry if I sound crazy. Guess I just want reassurance that I'm not the only indecisive bride around.

I think the dress type you're describing would be really nice for all sizes. Fortunately I knew my colors immediately b/c it was a formal wedding and I wanted to stick to formal colors (black, white with red and silver accents) so my mind was made up. I don't think you're neurotic though. If you have time, play around with a few things!

The dress you described is what i had for our wedding. Ours had straps, but were A-line with a small white ribbon around the waist, very nice looking.
Our colors were sage green and white. I liked the idea of one color and white. You should print them off and stick them up around your house, so you are looking at all the choices daily. Put the different ideas in different rooms so you can look and see, then decide! Good luck!

The only thing that I would worry about is that if you have any really hippy girls having a sash cinched around their waist really draws attention to the hips.

I think that really depends on the tightness of the dress and how tight the ribbon is tied. i had one girl in the wedding that had hips...love em! But she was my model...she was why i chose the dress, it looked great on her.
I guess ifyou have a model nearby have her try one on . .. maybe not your couzin, you dont want her to frusterated . .. .haha!
Just see it before you decide. I can post a pic up of the bridal party if you want. To see my girls, let me know.

Thanks for saying I'm not neurotic! lol I just feel like I'm losing my mind sometimes. Why do I have to like everything???
Thanks for the tips. I have one of my girls coming to town today I think so I'll see if she wants to help me out by going to try on the dress I have in mind.
The dress that they like so far actually comes in navy, but with no sash (it gathers across the waist in front). Do you think it would be okay if they were in all navy with pink flowers? I just liked the sash idea...

You can probably buy or even make sashes in hot pink for them?

I'd bet money you could buy sashes at Davids.

My girls (sizes 2, 10, and 14) had strapless A-line dresses with a wide sash that my mom made. They all looked beautiful and really liked their dresses.

That sounds like exactly what I was wanting to do. David's has plain strapless dresses for like, 100 bucks I think. And they come in navy. And sashes are insanely easy, I could do them myself if I was better at straight seams. None of my bridesmaids have really been around much lately so we'll see what happens. There's a wedding show this weekend that FI and I are going to and I swore to him I would decide on the colors by the end of that day.

I must be crazy for thinking they can all wear the same dress. I may look into a seamstress so they can customize the same basic dress. What do you guys think? I know my grandma would make at least three of them, but I'm not sure I want to ask her.

It sounds like going with separates might be your best bet. I will say though that those dresses hid all my girls' guts. And the blue looks a lot different from the pink, and the boning in it isn't as clingy as it looks in the pink. I've got some pictures around here someplace if you'd like to see them, let me know.
But I think if you don't want to hassle with a dress for all, go with the separates.

Well, I did it. I changed the colors. I'm so in love with them. FI threatened that if I try to change them again he's taking over the wedding, lol. I already found a couple dresses that I want to go look at this week. And I'm going to look at the seperates at some different stores too. I'm so excited though that FI let me go with pink!
