Cool Snowflake Theme Wedding

I have a lot of great ideas for a snowflake theme already, but I would love to hear more if anyone has any suggestions please let me know. The wedding is March 1, 2008. I hope I am not making a mistake planning for a wedding when it could be snowing but I have always wanted to have an "icy wedding" ever since I was little. I think it would be amazing to be a snow princess. My colors are silver and ice blue. Thanks for your help!!!

What are some of your other ideas? We'd love to see pictures to.

I'd hit Dollar Tree in late Oct/early Nov and after Christmas sales.

Dollar Tree usually has multi packs of frosted snowflakes with iridescent sparkles. You could hang them everywhere or give them as your favor.

You could probably find snowflake blank cards around Christmas too and use them for your invites. Print your own inserts, and or use vellum overlays

Glitter!
We had ice blue tablecloths that were plastic (shhhhh don't tell anyone ) with a fuzzy backing. They were heavy duty and easy clean up. Smart and Final had the best deal on them, unless you have a party supply store near you that has coupons.

You could also get snowflake plant stakes or floral pics and use them to add your theme to various arrangements.

They usually have that white fake "snow" with glitter too... you could use that for displays.

What are your ideas?

Check out the Pash store. They have beautiful snowflake candle holders that I ordered as a favors for a company holiday party. Everyone loved them - and I even have one on my office desk right now even though it's August, lol.

ETA: Here's the link to the candle holders: http://www.blissweddingsmarket.com/store/000451.htm

They have a ton of stuff for a winter wedding, and they deliver really quickly.

I love your choice of silver and ice blue... but I'm also thinking lots of irredescent (sp?) white (picture an icy lake) and blue/silver accents... maybe have confetti on the tables? Even better, are you having a flower girl? Instead of flower petals, have her drop "snowflakes."

BTW: The light blue font is hard to read against the white... could you please use a different color so I can read your posts without getting a headache? Thanks!

Oh - and welcome to Pash!

Welcome to Pash! I think a snowflake wedding sounds beautiful. Do you live somewhere where there will be snow in March?

wave Pictures and many thanks!

Sorry everyone I had no idea that the blue font would be such a pain to read! I do have some pictures of what I am going for so that everyone who wanted to see pictures can see them. I guess I will just post links for those people.

Here is the cake that I am trying to go for:

I like these arangments
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v2...urrent=593.jpg
I have ideas of having snow covered mirrors with floating candles in the middle of the table. I also would like to have sliver branches covered in icecicles and maybe white lights. I know we are having two ice scupltures that are snowflakes that you can take shots out of. I would like to have everything look like a white winter wonderland! I love the idea of having the flowergirl sprinkle snow. This will be especally wonderful since our flowergirl is my step daughter to be.

This was my total inspiration for the wedding:

As far as favors go we are going with shotglasses from http://www.discountmugs.com
which are very nice and economical!

I found a chocolate mold on ebay that you can make chocolate covered oreos with http://cgi.ebay.com/Snowflake-Mold-C...QQcmdZViewItem
The page actually suggests you used white and milk chocolate for the molds but in testing I have been using white and blue snowflakes for the oreos and they have come out beautifully!

I have lots more ideas if anyone would love to share let me know! Thanks for being so welcoming to me! Can't wait to read all your further suggestions!!!!

applause

Just an update.

I just ordered my cake last Thursday, I went with a snowflake themed cake with snowflake imprints in a square design because our cake lady said we would get more cake out of a square cake and she wouldn't charge us extra for it. I also hired her daughter to do our decor, I am so glad I did this because now I can relax now instead of worrying how everything was going to get decorated! They both are really nice ladies and seem to understand where I am going with the whole snowflake/winter theme.
