Those bags are too cute! And I love the table number idea, that's adorable and it will be so fun for people who've known you as kids. Everything is looking great!

I found a dress and I'm looking for some advice. I'm 5'3" and an hourglass shape (busty and hippy with a smaller waist). This dress is a $75 version of the thousand dollar ones I've been ogling. It's an upscale department store and was originally about $200 There are no returns and no way to try it on first. Anyone got an opinion? Words of wisdom? Something? I'm stuck.

I'd be a little wary of not being able to try it on and then also not being able to return it. It may only be $75 but is $75 a risk you're willing to take? It's a pretty dress but I'd probably keep looking. If you truly have your heart set on it maybe you could find a pattern similar to it and fabric that you like and have it made. It will cost a bit more but if you're willing to take a chance with the other dress I'd be willing to spend a bit more to know that the dress will actually fit. Seamstresses usually only charge one fee for the making and the fitting of the dress so it would end up being custom made to your body. Good luck, hope you find what you're looking for!

I'd say it depends on how much $75 means to you. If you're willing to risk it and would be okay if the dress didn't work out, then it's definitely a great price, and go for it. But if $75 would be a hardship to lose, don't do it.
Basically, only gamble with money you can afford to lose.

Did you buy the $75 dress? If you aren't strapped for cash, I'd do it. Small risk and you can sell it on craigslist or ebay or donate it and get a write off.
I bought a dress I thought I loved on ebay for $200. It was a designer dress with tags. It wasn't what I hoped and I sold it on craigslist for $300 to someone who tried it on and fell in love. I just knew if I didn't buy it, I would have THAT dress in the back of my mind. (I couldn't afford it in the store as it was over $1600 so I didn't even try it). Glad I did it.
ETA: gorgeous dress!

Hi...Mike and christy. Warm welcome to this baord. I have little Idea about wedding boquette.Ninety five percent of wedding bouquets are hand-tied, where the flowers are gathered together and the stems are wrapped in wide satin ribbon. Brides wanting more glamorous bouquets choose beads, brooches, jewel pins, pearls, crystal/rhinestone picks, and monogrammed ribbon to dress up plain ribbon-wrapped stems and blooms. With the continuing popularity of the beach and garden themes, brides wanting a more rustic and natural look to their bouquet add elements such as shells/starfish, feathers, berries and pinecones.

That was pretty much the logic I was operating on as well. I went to buy it... and it had already sold. I keep telling myself that it just wasn't meant to be. LOL.

Bridesmaid Dresses
After endless searching, I think I've finally figured out what the bridesmaids will be wearing! I'm thinking we are going to go with this dress in chocolate brown (from Victoria's Secret of all places) and brown cowboy boots. My matron of Honor is having a baby 5 weeks before the wedding, so a wrap dress gives her some room for size adjustment. I also have a bridesmaid who spent the last two years in dialysis for kidney failure and she has horrible bruise-like swollen veins on her upper arms that I know she is self-consious about, so this will cover that as well. The rest of my girls would look good in a paper sack, so I'm sure they will be stunning in this simple dress. I'm so excited that I finally found something I know they will all like

Photographer & Guest Book
Mike and I booked our photographer this weekend! I am totally psyched to have that set up. The guy we found is reasonably priced, has beautiful photos, and a genuinely fun personality. I was so excited that I just had to share :-)
Also, we decided that to fit our rustic fall theme, we are going to use a cross section slab from a tree and have guests sign that in lieu of a guestbook, then we can lacquer it and hang it in our house.

I looove the guest book idea.
Seriously, my husband and I are planning to have another wedding type of thing in 5 years because we had to keep things so small. Will you be my wedding planner? lol I love all of your ideas and it is all coming together beautifully.

Thanks guys :-) And Sarah, I am totally loving this whole wedding planning thing... if I could figure out how to get a job in this industry I would do it in a heartbeat. The only sad part about planning my wedding is that there are a thousand other possibilities I am leaving untouched to make everything come together!
