Needless to say we are having some out of town guests. After looking at the costs of getting hotel rooms for... We are having the wedding in Florida. Needless to say we are having some out of town guests. After looking at the costs of getting hotel rooms for two nights I almost lost it. Then I had a great idea... I did some checking and found out that the cost of renting a house for a week is LESS than the 4 hotel rooms we would need. I also like it because we intend to have a beach wedding, we can do it right below the house, have the reception at the house right after, and then when our out of town guests go home, we have the house to ourselves for the rest of the week. Also it we have to postpone the wedding due to bad weather, we wont have to rush it the next day because we need to check out of the hotel. Also it will save money becuase we wont have to eat out all the time, but can make meals together and spend time with his family without imposing upon them. Also, since my sister and my kids will be there, we can take them with us if we go to the zoo or the aquarium, and still get time to ourselves. You might want to consider this for your own wedding. It just makes sense - and dollars, LOL. It's definitely worth checking out, she's got great style. Here is one idea that I'm definitely following thru with:

Lavender Champagne
Ingredients
Makes 16
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon dried lavender
4 bottles (750 mL each) dry Champagne or sparkling wine, chilled
Fresh lavender sprigs, for garnish
Directions
Bring sugar and 1/2 cup water to a boil in a saucepan, stirring to dissolve sugar. Stir in dried lavender. Remove from heat. Let cool completely. Strain out lavender. Refrigerate syrup until ready to serve (up to 1 month).
Pour about 6 ounces Champagne and 1 1/2 teaspoons syrup into each flute. So far, the date is set for October 3, 2009 and I'm soooo excited!! My fiance, Zach, and I will have been together for 10 years in 2009 and figured that was the right time to take the plunge and walk down the aisle ;) He'll be 33 and I'll be 27 and to tell you the truth, I'm kind of excited to start a family! We have been thru thick and thin and truly love each other.

So far I've just been writing down all of my ideas down in a little book...the types of flowers I like, colors, etc. My future sister in-law (and best friend) are going to pick up wedding mags this weekend...she's going to help me plan.

I am very excited about this and I know in my heart this is really what I want to do. I cant help to feel stressed. This is a really big deal! Only the super smart go to grad school..... am I going to be able to cut it? I have so many papers to gather in the shortest time ever. I cannot get ahold of the academic adviser for my program for the life of me. I just want to make sure I am doing everything right. Going back to school will change a lot of things for us and I am nervous about that too. I know I should not fear the unknown but I do a little. I have to get all my transcripts in order and fill out my FAFSA for this year and one for last year too I think. I hope that I can cut it. I am planning on starting my new fitness plan tomorrow and I cant sleep. I need to wake up at 5 AM. That is 6 hours away. I am not sure what I am achieving by posting this but it does feel good to tell someone! I am just feeling stressed and nervous. There is a few other things going on that I am not happy about but I am trying to accept that I cannot change them. Everything is wonderful with Jake and I. To be honest I am choosing the school based on the cost of tuition. I am already WAY too far in debt from my bachelor's degree. I figure as long as I can pass the tests to be a special ed teacher what does it matter where I go to school. The school is going to be an hour drive for me and I am not a fan of that but it is worth the savings! This will cost less than one sixth of what my bachelors cost. I drove all the way out to the school and the lady that I was to meet with wasnt there. Not the best impression let me tell you that but oh well! I got a bunch of information. More than I have gathered from online. I am looking through everything and for the degree I want it is a self managed application. They gave me 2 big envelopes and I have to gather everything and send it all back in. I am confused about this whole process and I found out, thank god, that I dont have to take the GRE until I complete 9 credit hours. I am not looking forward to that I have never taken a lot of the courses they test on (calculus). I am looking forward to this new adventure but I am a little nervous. I miss going to school. That gave me a real sense of responsibility. Plus as soon as I finish grad school I will be able to start planning our wedding. We are going to have the longest engagement ever but I think it is better for us. We will be in a better place financially and that will make me more comfortable.
