Thinking about throwing a shower with a theme? Check out these 5 popular shower themes and lots of fun ideas to fit each one.
Every bridal shower host wants to find the perfect favor for party guests, something that works with the theme of the party, is enjoyable and useful, looks pretty and is inexpensive. Now that many showers have gone co-ed, with both men and women attending, party hosts have even more to consider – how do you choose a favor that everyone will love?
For the bride, opening all those beautifully wrapped shower gifts is a highlight of the day, but did you know that you can make the unwrapping session even better for both the bride and for all the guests? Your goal is to make this sometimes very long stretch of the shower more enjoyable for the bride and keep the guests from slipping into a boredom coma.
The children of the bride and/or groom may want to play a part in hosting the shower as well. And that’s a wonderful touch to the meaning of the day, as well as a great way to let the child feel like she’s a big part of the plans. Depending on the child’s age, it’s up to you to determine how they’ll play their part, and what they can handle. Planning a shower is a big job, but it’s made up of lots of little tasks that a child of any age will be able to treat like a project or game. From helping with the food to making the favors to planning the music and games, there’s lots for the kids to do!
Some of your shower games will call for playful prizes and gag gifts. So check out the following items at party supply and toy stores to give your guests a giggle.
The bride may be glowing for another reason other than being the center of attention at her bridal shower. If the bride is expecting, then you may or may not be hosting a specialty shower with the pregnancy itself playing a part.  Decide what’s best for the situation and for the bride’s schedule (and due date!) to decide if you want to add the specialty angle to this party.
Showers are thrown to do just that -- “shower” the bride with love, well wishes, and lots and lots of gifts. Traditionally, the whole point of a bridal shower was for the women in a bride’s life to get together and send her off into married life fully armed with all the household necessities she’d need when she became a wife.

What’s the one category of wedding gift that most couples say they want? China sets? Kitchen appliances? Flat-screen televisions? Believe it or not, the answer is organizing and storage items for their homes.
