It’s been decided: You’ll give each of your bridesmaids designer purses and each of your groomsmen personalized beer mugs to thank them for playing such a big role in your special day. So where does that leave those tiny tots in your wedding party? If you’re having trouble deciding on a gift for the littlest members of your wedding party, here are a few ideas to help get the ideas flowing.

Gift Ideas for the Youngest Members of Your Bridal Party

It’s been decided: You’ll give each of your bridesmaids designer purses and each of your groomsmen personalized beer mugs to thank them for playing such a big role in your special day. So where does that leave those tiny tots in your wedding party? If you’re having trouble deciding on a gift for the littlest members of your wedding party, here are a few ideas to help get the ideas flowing.

Flower Girls

-Ask her mom what the hottest doll or toy of the moment is and get it for her. Something she and all her friends are just dying to get their hands on. Maybe it’s an American Girl doll, a My Twin doll, or Tickle Me Elmo.

-Check out a teddy bear shop where you can customize the bear’s clothes. Then pick her up two bears dressed as a bride and groom – or try to find a little bear’s dress that looks similar to her flower girl dress and give her a “flower girl” teddy bear. If you or someone you know is handy with the sewing machine, make a teddy bear dress out of extra fabric from her dress that is an exact mini replica.

-Little girls love jewelry, so present her with an engraved locket she’ll treasure for years. Place a photo of yourself and your husband on one side and one of her on the other. Have her first initial monogrammed on the front of the locket and a brief note of thanks on the back.

-A cute, catch-all tote bag that says “flower girl” on the side will be a fun way for her to carry around her dolls, crafts or other toys. She can use it when she’s traveling, or just to hold all her favorite stuff at home. And she’ll think it’s fun to carry around a big bag just like mommy’s.

-If the littlest lady in your wedding party loves her arts and crafts, give her a flower-themed craft kit. Think coloring books full of flowers, crayons, flower-shaped molds for her Play-Dough, and other age-appropriate projects she can do that will remind her of her role in your big day.

Ring Bearers

-Give the little guy a lounge chair just like daddy’s. Toddler-sized lounge chairs are pretty darn cute, and kids love having their own special place to sit. See if you can get the upholstery embroidered with his name.

-Is your ring bearer a sports fan? Give him a baseball, football or basketball with the words “All Star Ring Bearer” printed on them? (There’s a cute mini-football pre-printed with exactly those words available at amazon.com.)

-Ask his mom and dad what toy he just has to have. You know, the hot item that will be all sold out around the holidays. Maybe it’s a cool new train set or a remote-control truck.

-Remember when you used make your own walkie talkie’s by tying a string between to paper cups? The novelty of talking to your friends when they’re far away hasn’t lost it’s allure in our modern day and age – kids still  love it. Give your ring bearer a toy walkie talkie that will work in your reception hall. This is an especially fun gift if you’ll have more than one kid in the wedding party. They’ll get a major kick out of talking to each other from across the room at the big bash. (Just make sure they don’t have access to their new toy at the ceremony!)

-What’s a great gift for the tot who has everything? A personalized toy box or other toy storage container. His parents will be grateful for another place to hide toys and he’ll think it’s totally cool that it has his name on it. (For added brownie points, ask mom and dad the if his room has a theme you can mimic on the box – say, airplanes or sports)

-If all the grown up groomsmen will be getting personalized beer mugs, give the little man his own little personalized plastic cup he can use for his milk or juice. Try to find one that looks as much like the ones the big boys got.

Junior Bridesmaids

-Give the tween in your wedding party a pair if soft and comfy ballet slippers she can wear to the reception – or another comfy slipper. Chances are her feet aren’t accustomed to uncomfortable dress-up shoes and she’ll appreciate the gesture – heck, your adult bridesmaids might like a pair too. Just be sure they’re stylish and sophisticated looking – not too childish. She’s old enough to feel silly in big colorful puffy slippers at your elegant party.

-If all the grown-up girls are getting purses to use on formal occasions, get the junior bridesmaid a purse or bag that’s more practical for her – an everyday purse she can use at school or a cool book bag. Or give her the formal purse, too.  She can use it on your big day and maybe again at a fancy school dance.

-An engraved silver jewelry box will be a sweet reminder of her special role for years and years to come. Have the inscription say more than just her name – put in a brief personalized note thanking her for playing such an important role in your big day.

Junior Groomsmen

-If your junior groomsman is a sports fanatic, give him a sports-themed gift. His favorite player’s jersey; a personalized jersey or jacket, a autographed picture of his favorite player or a personalized scoreboard print from his favorite stadium. (A photo of the stadium mocked up to look like his name and a message – such as, “Thanks, Jarod!” – were displayed on the scoreboard during a game.)

-If the guys are getting watches or key rings, there’s no reason your junior groomsman shouldn’t too. Anyone can use a nice engraved wristwatch, pocket watch or a silver key ring (even if just for his house key and locker key).

-Pre-teen boys love their video games. Find out what system is his favorite and get him a great video game or cool new video game accessory to go with it.

-If the little athlete loves his sports and is active in any one particular activity, get him something that goes along with it. A skate board, baseball bat, glove, bowling ball, golf balls and tees, etc. Any one of those items can be personalized for an extra special touch.

Remember, the best gifts are personal and focus on the recipient’s hobbies and likes. And if all else fails, get every wedding party member – from your maid-of-honor to your ring bearer – matching bridal party tee-shirts with their role in the party proudly printed on the front.
